marcus Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 To kind of return back to topic, here's a little write-up on ProcessWire and ProcessWire Recipes: http://bigger-on-the-inside.net/articles/processwire-recipes (again shameless plug™) 11
Nico Knoll Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 In case you haven't seen it yet: https://www.cmscritic.com/2014-critics-choice-award-winner-best-free-php-cms ProcessWire won the CMS Critics 2014 Best Free PHP CMS Award. 7
dazzyweb Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Great stuff but I do think that some might accuse cms critic of being a little biased though I do totally agree with the result. But saying that cms critic is probably in a better position than most to make such a judgment after testing and using so many content management systems. 1
Joss Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Great stuff but I do think that some might accuse cms critic of being a little biased though I do totally agree with the result. Yes, I did think that perhaps he should have said, in a friendly way, "Look, I am completely biased, but it is for very good reasons!" Edit: Which would be more than many of those people who promote wp and use wp ever say ....
dazzyweb Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 @joss Yes that would be a good way of putting and would also gain more respect. I know what you mean by some WP users & WP promoters. It is often stated by them as a matter of fact that Wordpress is the best without even trying anything else. 1
Joss Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 I know what you mean by some WP users & WP promoters. It is often stated by them as a matter of fact that Wordpress is the best without even trying anything else. The one thing about Processwire uses is that most of them have ended up here having really trawled round the field, so have a pretty good perspective. When I think of all those I have tried (and I have use less than many): PHP News script thingy (no database required and bugger all security either) Mambo Drupal Joomla/Seblod (an attempt to make Joomla more versatile, but ends up hugely bloated) Dreamweaver Impakt TikiWiki Liferay And all those I have long forgotten 1
pwired Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 The one thing about Processwire uses is that most of them have ended up here having really trawled round the field Exactly. 1
pideluxe Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Just saw this announcement in my favourite german computer magazine c't. In the next issue on March 7th, there will be an article about our favourite CMS processwire. Anybody knows who is writing this article, someone from the forum? And be prepared for some traffic... For all non german speaking people, the text reads as follows: ProcessWire instead of Joomla, WordPress and others A modular content managment system, which adapts to the needs of web developers - instead of contrary. ProcessWire promises much freedom without ballast. Whether blog, club site or a complex business site - the free CMS handles it all. 14
owzim Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 @pideluxe, that is AWESOME news, c't is a huge computer magazine in Germany. And look at the logo within that futuristic collage, adorable Very excited. thanks for the info. 3
WinnieB Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 ProcessWire promises much freedom without ballast
Beluga Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I don´t know if this if off topic but here´s a request for tut plus. So they make a course on processwire. https://tutsplus.uservoice.com/forums/248750-suggest-a-tuts-course/suggestions/6769150-using-processwire-for-web-development They declined. 1
WillyC Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 they declinded not.support wordpress universe model pw no good.for themeforest sales follow.the € 6
dazzyweb Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 It is possible that they just don't have anyone expert enough in Processwire at the moment to create such a course. Though it would be interesting to see if there was a change in attitude if some of us started creating and selling Processwire site profiles on themeforest. 1
cstevensjr Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I already put a word in. I have been a Tuts+ Premium member for awhile. I'll also try other channels. 2
mr-fan Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Sometimes i work with themeforrest HTML themes on projects with low budget...fun fact is with PW I get a HTML theme up and running with normal content in a few minutes... But hey a WordPress theme with xxx dependencies and a insecure cms only cost the double price... 3
mr-fan Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Just saw this announcement in my favourite german computer magazine c't. ProcessWire promises much freedom without ballast. Whether blog, club site or a complex business site - the free CMS handles it all. Just hold the new c't one of the big german computer magazines....it's a 4 page article....very nice written. some extractions translated: ...the development of a webpage is "shocking easy"... ...the growing modul catalog, the active community and the "ProcessWire Weekly"-Newsletter shows, that on this young Opens-Source-CMS happened a lot. The roadmap promise interesting features for the future.... ...backlinks online and in the end of the article $pw->awesome->url = http://ct.de/ybn5 best regards and a great weekend mr-fan 8
owzim Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Awesome, can't wait to read it. Just bought the article online. btw. the article is called "Kurzer Prozess", literally translates to "short process", best English equivalent might be "to cut to the chase". Wordplay here. 2
dragan Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 i scanned it (our company subscribed the mag)... if anyone wants to read it, let me know. The timing is right too, since i'm preparing a tech-hour to present in-house 1
teppo Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Not really such a big deal, but.. this made me smile. Perhaps Ryan could implement couple of vulnerabilities somewhere, so that we can get some CVEs of our own? 10
Martijn Geerts Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Nice find @Teppo. Big smile on my face here.... 2
Mike Rockett Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Just bumped into this nice little article from last year. I, too, would like to share PW with fellow South Africans, which I'll be doing when I release my new website in the coming months. Here's the article: jansieblom.co.za/perfect-cms/ 4
Nico Knoll Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Just found this: http://www.ubtutorials.com/tutorial/1124/how-install-processwire-ubuntu-vps 1
Pete Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Look at the last image and you can see who probably posted it too 5
