How many of you use a service like OpenShift?
cstevensjr replied to OrganizedFellow's topic in Dev Talk
@OrganizedFellow, Thanks for mentioning OpenShift. I hadn't followed Red Hat in quite some time, so it was enjoyable to see what they have been up to. Best Regards, Charles -
Adding pages with multiple fields as page fieldtype?
cstevensjr replied to opalepatrick's topic in General Support
@renobird, I have to say thanks for making your post today. I read your post this morning and decided to finally create my first ever Process Module. It was easy and very addicting.' Best Regards, Charles -
Looks great and loads fast from Southern California.

Let's Highlight Processwire's Ability To Be An "enterprise Cms"

@argos, Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Thanks for your comments. -
I think you are mixing things up. The PW directories are /site and /wire. The /processwire url in the setup script is for admin access purposes. They are not the same thing.

Repeaters Not Saving Consistently / Odd Behaviour
cstevensjr replied to sharpenator's topic in General Support
It would help if we knew what versions of PHP and MySQL you are now working with. You originally stated that you were working with an old version of PW. To help anyone properly troubleshoot your issue it would be extremely helpful to know what upgrades you have done to your infrastructure (Apache, PHP, MySQL) so far. Are you able to create a development site and import your data to properly test any proposed fixes before committing further changes to your production website? I would suggest you remove all third party modules, in a testing environment. If you then continue having problems then it points exactly at your core install. If the problems go away, then you need to troubleshoot which third party module is causing the issues. I would suggest adding a third party module at a time until the problem reoccurs. Finally, you should also let us know whether the modules (Core and 3rd Party) on your website are at the current release versions. Just an FYI, having PHP and MySQL above the minimums and having up-to-date software are 2 separate things. I do believe this great community will do it's best to help you resolve your issues. No matter what, these are just suggestions that follow basic troubleshooting criteria. -
[BUG] Verified sort bug with PageListSelectMultiple in PW 2.4.0

Can you please comment/reopen this issue or open a new issue on Github? -
I believe validation is done based on what type of field you are using. There are other validations done based on whether the field is required or not and a host of other criteria. The fields where you should enter required data will display where the error is. When you are creating a form, you can easily test out what's gonna happen by using the Preview tab under Forms. This should also be filed under the Form Builder section.

Pulling a field from front end in Form Builder
cstevensjr replied to peterpp's topic in General Support
I think I may be misunderstanding what you are asking for. If you are creating a new page based on the fields, then you should already be able to also get the image description or any other form information. Don't you already have Form Builder automatically mapping it's form fields to your page fields to create the new page? This should also be posted in the Form Builder section. -
You can use the Blog Manager Module which is based off of the Blog Profile. This allows anyone to add a blog to an existing website.

I do agree with what everyone is saying, however I do think at sometime, in the near future, we should have a business model properly explained. We do need to promote and sell the business capabilities/potential of ProcessWire. I would hope that is what everyone is already doing now. I believe we can put our collective heads together and define what the actual business capabilities are and why they are. I believe a lot of the information is already on the website, we just haven't made a solid business case for using ProcessWire over other solutions. Sometimes it's simply using the basic keywords that business managers are looking out for. We have to remember that when we do use those keywords they have to be matched with solid and verifiable technology solutions (that work as advertised). Being considered an Enterprise solution is something totally different and as @Pete rightly says will take major input from Ryan and others. -
FYI, How to find the Apache Version http://kb.siteground.com/how_to_check_the_apache_version_on_the_server_hosting_my_acc/ One thing to remember, don't publicly list or publish the complete results of the phpinfo() information on your server

Hopefully everything is now working. If you have any additional issues I believe it would be helpful if we knew the PHP, Apache and MySQL versions you are running on the dev online and dev local.

It''s great when you have a platform you don't have to make excuses for.
-
There are many different ways to do many things in ProcessWire. You could have to 2 roles (Client and Customer) and do the things you listed with no problem. As I said, there are many other ways to do the exact same thing in ProcessWire. If you do a Google search of the forum, I believe you will find a lot of technical information that will help you achieve what you desire.
-
No one likes change or a honest appraisal. The big three (Wordpress, Joomla and Drupal) will not fair well against ProcessWire whenever a true comparison is done based on strictly technical requirements/capabilities for building actual websites, not blogs. We are all here because we have already dealt with those platforms, worked within their systems to improve their capabilities and unfortunately found them lacking for various reasons. Those platforms will improve over time, however so will ProcessWire. We need to just press ahead and keep doing what we are doing.

A very good and much needed tutorial. There are so many different and great uses for the technology that has been created within the ProcessWire community.

I don't have a quick answer, however you should think about moving this topic to the Form Builder section of the Forum. You will get a faster and more informed answer there. Good luck.

Anything that adds to the learning process is appreciated. Thanks for the effort.

@pwired, I just sent you a PM

Just an FYI, any domain you own or manage should be Locked to prevent this from happening.

I finally got around to installing and configuring this module today. Thank you for making this available as a ProcessWire module. Everything worked fine and you should be commended for a quality piece of work.
-
Welcome to ProcessWire. Can you provide a little more information regarding your site setup/structure so someone can help you?

Please go to /sites/assets/cache/ and remove any .cache files that you see. They should be recreated, as necessary. I had a problem lately with the Module Manager not seeing new updates and that's how I got that working again. I really don't know if this will completely clear up your issue of not recognizing the new module.
