  1. You have already figured this out, however I will post to save others time when dealing with this situation. 1. I wouldn't mess with anything in /wire because, as I understand it, /wire gets replaced when your site is updated to a new version of ProcessWire. 2. If you are replacing the logo.gif, then you will need to replace it with another file named logo.gif for it to display. If you don't do that you will need to find all code that references that file and change the name there also. Best Regards, Charles
  2. I believe these types of articles only serve as a distraction. They are popular and get a lot of press. Even if Wordpress had 99% of the webpages it doesn't make it a better product than ProcessWire. I have used Wordpress and Joomla for customer sites, in the past. They were a tool that got the job done, then, because I wasn't aware/knowledgeable of better tools. Since, I have discovered ProcessWire, I now know that those tools aren't appropriate for seriously developing websites or web applications. They have great strengths but also many technical weaknesses. Anyone who seriously compares Wordpress, Joomla or Drupal to ProcessWire and then states that technically those 3 are better, is not dealing with reality. I could spend the next year learning about all the remarkable things you can do with ProcessWire. I now believe the only limitation is your imagination.
  3. Very nice website and extremely useful information. Keep up the great work.
  4. @Kongondo, Thanks for that tidbit. I'm still learning and appreciate the advice.
  5. @Horst, Thank you for greatly for working on this. This solved an issue where I had many tags showing up in the top navigation menu. @Ryan, that works under most situations, but it does not allow you to later search for those items. It would be nice to have a status of Hidden: Not excluded from lists and searches. Hopefully that makes sense to you.
  6. To help anyone wanting to help you, please provide at least the following for both your development and production environments: Version of PHP PW Version MySQL Version Server Type (Linux, Windows, etc) Hosting type (Shared, VPS, Dedicated Server)
  7. Thanks for this great link. I just took the course and it was very helpful.
  8. Ryan, You constantly make working with PW too exciting.
  9. I just wanted to say that this is a GREAT module.
  10. Awesome, knowledgeable and always helpful community members paired with incredible software, continue to make PW a step above all others.
  11. Good Day, I wanted to express my greatest appreciation for the fine work you put into creating the Bootwire basic framework and demo profiles. I've tried both and they installed without any problem. I myself also come from the Joomla world to ProcessWire and had been extremely happy to have found my way here. My only problem had been understanding the relationship between ProcessWire and markup. In the Joomla world, working with markup is totally different. I was struggling to make the connection and it didn't help that there are only a few profiles to look at. It was your helpful explanations regarding how Twitter Bootstrap integrated with ProcessWire that cleared up my confusion regarding this. I was able to look at both profiles and now the lights are finally coming on inside my mind. I am enjoying using ProcessWire once again. Thank You. Best Regards, Charles
  12. As I have said elsewhere on the social web "Wishing all a festive holiday season regardless of anyone's politics, faith, religion or culture."
  13. I just ran into the exact same problem trying to use the Blank Profile.
  14. I have recently become acquainted with ProcessWire and feel extremely lucky to have discovered this Open Source community. I find it truly amazing that something with the quality and flexibility of ProcessWire is available for free. I am blown away by how the community works and contributes. I have been reading the posts on this forum and love how developers are actually helping each other with solutions. Form Builder is a very impressive tool and should be a commercial offering. I had no problem in buying my Developer's license. I also won't have any problem ensuring my clients buy an individual license. It is a great product that is well thought out. It is a definite time saver that quickly provides professional results. I am just glad that Ryan has kept this tool at an affordable price. He even solicits advice from us on making improvements and we don't have to wait long for enhanced capabilities. I applaud the fact that he is being properly reimbursed for his hard work. I like where this project is headed. I appreciate all the other developers who are actively involved. I am thankful everyone provides concise technical explanations in their posts. This allows me to learn more and more each day about ProcessWire.
