Hi @Wanze, files are there on the ftp in /site/assets/files/{pageid} - also the thumbs are generated correctly.

I have Turkish, Russian language problem with your module, I tested also mPdf 6.1 from source directly and there is no problem with same test.

I tested this example : https://github.com/mpdf/mpdf/blob/6.1/examples/example29_multilingual_autofont.php with all fonts.

which outputs to /?pdf={pid} but clicking the link just opens the current page in a new tab, no PDF.

I have the template enabled in the module settings and the page is viewable.

I would rather not have the ID in the download URL though. Currently I have the GET variable set to 'pdf', so it's ?pdf={id}. Since I'm linking from the page, can't it simply be ?pdf=1 for the pdf of the current page..? Thanks.

Hi,

I want to generate a PDF with dynamic page breaks so that started paragraphs are pushed to the next page. Is that possible with pages2pdf or another php solution?

If dynamic page breaks are not or not so easy to implement, a tool would be interesting, in which one could put the page breaks manually in a preview view before generating the PDF.

Does anyone have an idea?

Has anyone come across this error before? It seems to start happening after my PW3 upgrade. 
I've had no problems with this module on PW 2.8.x.

mPDF error: Some data has already been output to browser, can't send PDF file

Update: It seems like we need to use an updated version of mpdf?

@Wanze,

I downloaded the latest version of mpdf and did a quick file comparison and the two versions looked vastly different. (So much so that the file comparison program 'hung')
I didn't dare try merging or upgrading mpdf without any knowledge of its inner workings.

Anyways, I managed to get it working but I now have a very strange bug going on. 
It seems that when I hover over our Site Logo, a Yellow Post it Note appears with the URL written on it?


Very strange and not sure if anyone else is having this problem. Initially, I thought it had something to do with the Post it note chrome extension I had installed but uninstalling it made no difference.

i've used mPDF standalone (my own module). and indeed i've had a project recently where i created reports with charts rendered by chartjs. i did a "hacky" solution where the charts are rendered, screenshot and integrated as PNG image by phantomjs. it's a bit slow but it was the best solution i could find - and the result looks very good :)

For anyone who is having the red x problem with images, I was able to solve these missing images by doing 2 things:

1) If you are on https, convert image references to absolute (i think this is because the library uses http when replacing image references ?) 

$rootPath = $pages->get(1)->httpUrl;
$body = str_replace("/site/assets/", $rootPath . "site/assets/" , $page->body);

2) Manually create the temp folder ("WirePDF") inside site/assets/cache/ – this folder did not exist and therefore the core library was throwing image errors.

Once these 2 things were completed, now the PDFs generate with the images correctly

In the screengrab attached my header is grey and has a height of 40mm.

The text reading 12345 and everything after that is not part of my header and is wrapped in a DIV.

Is there some trick to getting the content to start below the header and not overlap as such?

My actuall CSS is very simple right now with only the header having a height.

I could always give the body an absolute position but thought I'd ask first.

First of all, thanks for this great module!!

I have tried to search the forum and this topic, but no result... If Im overlooking something please excuse me...

Im trying to find a way to set the orientation of a page in the template. I now try to do this by CSS with rotate and so, but its not working the way I want it to be. I also read in mPDF docs that this is an option when creating a page. In the global module configuration it can be set, but I wantt to set it for the template. Is this possible?

You could try to hook before Pages2Pdf::___createPDF() and change the page orientation based on the pages template: 

wire()->addHookBefore('Pages2Pdf::createPDF', function($event) {
  $page = $event->arguments('page');
  $pages2pdf = $event->object;
  if ($page->template->name === 'your template') {
    $pages2pdf->getPDF()->set('pageOrientation', 'L');
  }
});

I'm not sure if it works though and I did not test if the above code is correct. Maybe it helps you to get started :)

Thanks for your reply and idea.

I have tried to use it while generating the page with the image I'd like to have the right orientation, which can be different for each page...but this does not work for me. It would be very nice to be able to pass options to mpdf when in the pdf template I guess. I now have fixed it with CSS rotation, this works for me for the moment.

Also, it's a bit counter intuitive to find that the footer is parsed before the main template; I tried to set some variables to get parsed in the footer, but this did not work.. Perhaps a quick fix to manage?

Hi Wanze,

very great module, very useful - thanks for making this.

I think i'm doing some things wrong here because I couldn't get any ouput on the pdf. Only the header an footer - line is printed out.

/xxx/xxx/site/templates/pages2pdf/_header.php
/xxx/xxx/site/templates/pages2pdf/_footer.php

I created a corresponding template in the pages2pdf-folder and defined it in the module configuration.
But the only thing what i get is an empty page with this 2 lines above in the footer and the header.

I've got a template/page where the content is only generated by the api.
After the closing php-tag i tried the print out only the headline of this page with
<?php
$header = "Überschrift";
?>
<h1><?= $header ?></h1>
 No results at all.
Even if i do <h1>Überschrift</h1> will give me an empty page.

Where is my fault? Could you please give me an advice?

I have implemented this module. It works great but it prints the page as it was when it got created (cached).

On this page some moderations are done through editable fields. After that is needs to be printed as a pdf. 

Now I need to save the page before I can print.

How can I either save the page before printing or don't use a cached version for printing?

Great module, I am using it extensively

Couple of questions:

- Do you know how to merge or prepend a multipage pdf file to the dynamically generated one? header and footers are repeated for all pages, whereas I am looking for something like a table of content

- Is there any possibility to update the mpdf to the 7th version from the current 5.6?
