  1. Hi! I have a big problem with a client of mine. I have to do something that i don't do very often with processwire, and i'm very afraid that i'm not gonna able to do it. So i write to search some help from you experts. The website that i'm gonna create will have a database with infos about users. This users are not the actual registrered users, but possible users. I'll try my best to explain this. What i will have is a datasheet in the database with infos about all the users (name, surname, fiscal Code) that can register to the website. So during registration the website is confront with this database of people, and accept or not your registration to the website. Now. The problems are: the client need a page in the CMS to insert this people in the first place (Custom Admin Page?) in the database. I read what i need to create it, but i don't understand what i need to do next. What i need to do for reading and writing to the database, with data, directly from a custom admin page in processwire? The other thing is. I can do this control during registration? I Can extend fields in the user account? I'm completely in your hands.

Breadcrumb Dropdowns Adds dropdown menus of page edit links to the breadcrumbs in Page Edit. Installation Install the Breadcrumb Dropdowns module. The module requires ProcessWire >= v3.0.83 and AdminThemeUikit. There is a checkbox option in the module config that determines if the breadcrumb dropdowns will include pages that the user does not have permission to edit. Features/details The module adds an additional breadcrumb item at the end for the currently edited page. That's because I think it's more intuitive for the dropdown under each breadcrumb item to show the item's sibling pages rather than the item's child pages. In the dropdown menus the current page and the current page's parents are highlighted in a crimson colour to make it easier to quickly locate them in case you want to edit the next or previous sibling page. Unpublished and hidden pages are indicated in the dropdowns with similar styling to that used in Page List. If the option to include uneditable pages is selected then those pages are indicated by italics with a reduced text opacity and the "not-allowed" cursor is shown on hover. There is a limit of 25 pages per dropdown for performance reasons and to avoid the dropdown becoming unwieldy. If the current user is allowed to add new pages under the parent page an "Add New" link is shown at the bottom of the breadcrumb dropdown. If the currently edited page has children or the user may add children, a caret at the end of the breadcrumbs reveals a dropdown of up to the first 25 children and/or an "Add New" link. Overriding the listed siblings for a page If you want to override the siblings that are listed in the dropdowns you can hook the BreadcrumbDropdowns::getSiblingsmethod and change the returned PageArray. For most use cases this won't be necessary. Incompatibilities This module replaces the AdminThemeUikit::renderBreadcrumbs method so will potentially be incompatible with other modules that hook the same method. https://modules.processwire.com/modules/breadcrumb-dropdowns/ https://github.com/Toutouwai/BreadcrumbDropdowns
  3. Hi guys I'm relatively new to PW and just finished developing a page for a client. I was able to include all necessary functionality using the core fieldtypes but now I it seems that I need to extend them with a custom one. What I need is a simple button, that copies the absolute url (frontend not PW-backend) of the page which is currently edited to the clipboard. As this feature is only needed inside a specific template, I tend to use a custom fieldtype which provides this feature. I've been looking inside the core modules code (eg. FieldtypeCheckbox.module) but I don't really get the structure of it and how its rendered to the admin page. I also didn't find a lot of tutorials covering custom fieldtypes. Maybe some of you could give me some tips on how to write a basic custom fieldtype that renders a button which copies the value of page->httpUrl() to the clipboard using JS. Thanks!
  4. Hey guys, Thought I would share a quick preview of Designme. A module we (Eduardo @elabx and I) are building for visually laying out your templates/edit screens. This is a really quick, zero polish screen grab. FYI. Video #2 - UPDATE This new video shows the following features in Designme: Re-arranging fields via Drag & Drop Re-sizing fields via Dragging. Adjusting field settings - with live refresh. Working on "hidden" fields while Designme is active. Creating New fields. Deleting fields. Creating/Deleting Tabs. Dragging fields between tabs. Creating fieldsets. Tagging/Un-tagging fields. Fields without headers expand when hovered (like checkboxes). Live filtering of fields in the sidebar. Ability to adjust (all) Template settings without leaving Designme. Template File Tree Editing Template files source code with ACE Editor. Editing Multiple files with ACE Editor. (New Tabs) Saving files. Techie stuff Fields load their own js/css dependancies. *ready to use on creation (*most fields) Everything happens via Ajax to ProcessPageEdit (via module + hooks). Designme has a JS api that you can use. All actions trigger events. We would love any detailed feedback on what you see so far. If you are interested in testing Designme. Let me know below. Video #1.
  5. Hi there, I'm developing locally on my laptop and we have a testing server where I deploy via rsynch + running a DB Dump script. (Exported via MySQLWorkbench) I've noticed that the admin password becomes invalid every time a DB Dump script is run on the server. Is this possibly because there's a hash and/or salt stored alongside the password and my local one is not valid on the server? Are there better practices of synching between my local Processwire and the server instance to prevent the admin password being invalidated?
  6. I'm coding my first module now. I've just managed to add a button to the page edit form but am not content with its placing. Is there any way to place it just next to the input field? I've marked the desired place with the arrow on the attached screenshot. My current code: $this->addHookAfter('ProcessPageEdit::buildFormContent' , $this, 'addButton'); public function addButton($event){ $form = $event->return; $f =$this->modules->InputfieldSubmit; ... $form->insertAfter($f, $form->get("bgg_id")); } "bgg_id" is the name of the targeted field.
  7. Hi guys! What do you think about something like this? Because I use this option regularly in the Windows File Explorer breadcrumb and it's very useful. The drop-down menu can display only published/visible child pages. I've tried to find how to do it as a module, but I'm not a coder with enough skills for that ... or I don't know if I can use hooks to do that ...

  9. Hey all, I am working on a website and I want to style the login page, but I'm a bit confused. I want either the existing login page styled in my own way using some CSS (I guess I prefer that) or I want to create a custom page with a form to login. (Which I could style too). I used the code from Ryan and Renobird posted here - which works great - but that doesn't replace the original login page. Is there a way to some sort of 'disable' the original login? I hope my question is clear and thanks in advance, matsn0w

Is the UIKit admin theme supposed to look like this when editing fields and templates? It seems like I did something wrong.
  11. Wondering if anyone can help me get past a sticking point. I'm setting up a Processwire instance in a multiple site setup (using Soma's multisite) to run several related websites. I am getting stuck on the tagging system that I am using (adapted from a standalone PW site I'm running). I have the tags themselves set up as Pages, and the Tags field on the related pages is and ASMselect field that populates based on the pages underneath /tags/ in the tree. This system works fine on the standalone site. Where I am running into issues, is with trying to use them with the multisite setup. Specifically, choosing the proper subset of pages for tags on the ASMselect input tab. I want to choose only the tag pages for the site in question. My tree is laid out like this: Multisite / | site1.com | subsections | site2.com | subsections | Tags | site1.com | tagA | tagB | site2.com | tagC So far, the best I've been able to do is to use 'parent.has_parent=/tags/' in the Custom Find or Selector String portion of the Selectable Pages section of the input. This gives me the options of choosing tagA, tagB, or tagC on a page under site1.com. What I'd like to find is a selector that allows me to only see tagA, tagB as options from a page under site1.com and only tagC on a page under site2.com. Elsewhere in my php templates, I'm using $page->rootParent->title to set the proper scope and URLs for things, but I have not found a way to get that to work in this field input setup. I am trying to avoid creating specific fields and templates for each site, as unified templates were part of the purpose of going with a multisite install. Thanks in advance for any ideas.
  12. I want the admin to select one of the child of a parent in "page reference" as radio buttons, but it comes out empty here is my hook in site/ready.php $wire->addHookAfter('InputfieldPage::getSelectablePages', function($event) { if ($event->object->hasField == 'childLinks') { $page = $event->arguments('page'); $parent = "parent=" . $page->path; $event->return = $event->pages->find($parent); } });
  13. Note - I've not set this up, I'm not experienced, I'm probably omitting much relevant information as a result so this post will be a bit of a work in progress. The answer may be on the forum here - If it is I can't tell for lack of experience (I've looked). I cannot for the life of me get an install to work and I've tried a lot, and I've asked others who're also struggling but I'll try posting here before another CMS as I've heard it's nice. Info about the server : https://gist.github.com/65086fbc7b5dd03abd0f0461b9c0ec8b I'm using the `stable` version of Processwire. 16. So I recently upgraded my sandbox environment to the latest master version from .62(?). I logged in and received the following error: "There appear to be multiple copies of module "AdminThemeUikit" on the file system." Unfortunately, in my haste, I removed the theme from site->modules so it doesnt exist anymore, and the theme has defaulted somewhat to the old theme. Is there a way to restore UIkit as the theme for processwire natively, or do I need to completely re-install?
  17. Hi, I wonder if there is any way to set a template to sort it's children by more than one column. I love that we can set this at either the template or page level, but I'd like to be able to sort by two columns as in SQL 'sort by column1, column2' If there's not a solution, I'll consider doing a module for it. Thanks.
  18. Hi everyone. I just completed first draft work on a module that I wrote. It creates a page for a user with a specified role when a user admin page is saved. I'm sure it could use some more work and would like any feedback on implementation, code quality, and any better utilization of the PW API. The problem I aimed to solve is that we are using the fantastic MarkupBlog module and wanted a way to easily specify an author for a post when the person who created the page is not the author we want shown on the post (example: one blog author ghostwriting for another blog author). This module allowed me to create a blog-author role and on user admin save create a page under the "Authors" page in the tree. After that each blog post gets a page select field that lists the Authors page children for selection. More detail: If a user is deleted from the CMS, their page remains in the page tree. This is to prevent problems if there are other pages that depend on that page. A hidden field is added to the User admin page that holds the id for the page created. When creating a page for a user, it checks if there is a page already created with that user's name- if it is, that page is used and the hidden field is updated with that page's ID. If a user's page is deleted from the tree, a new page is created on user admin save and the hidden ID field is updated with the new ID. Module installs and uninstalls properly including adding and removing the hidden ID field from the User system template. The module settings allow for choosing more than one role to create pages. Again since this is my first rodeo with ProcessWire module development I would love feedback and critique. The code is available here: https://github.com/skylundy/AutoUserPages Thanks!
  19. Hello, just installed and the link "login to admin" takes me to a blank page. the url is processwire/processwire but there is not processwire directory inside the processwire directory. What is this supposed to be pointing to?
  20. Hello! Can I deactivate the renaming feature of images and the editing (croping, rotating etc) in the processwire admin panel?
  21. Hello, I get often logged out from a web service built with PW. This web service has a large database and I use ListerPro to let my client browse and interact with it. After a couple of manipulations, or around 2-3 minute after logged in, the login page appears again. In this process, the last data submitted in the admin get often lost. About my configuration: The website is hosted on one of the first plans of OVH server (cheap ones), can it may be related to the problem? I uninstalled all the extra modules I used (Redirect, AdminCustomFiles). Nothing changed. The problem appeared recently only (since around 4 days) The website is still using basic http There is nothing interesting neither in `site/assets/logs/errors.txt` nor `site/assets/logs/modules.txt` I sometimes get the red error `This request was aborted because it appears to be forged.` together with `The process returned no content.` after a login attempt. I saw on this forum that it can be related to access rights and checked a couple of files permissions, and I *think* everything is fine. Thanks in advance for your help.
  22. So I have a module that builds a dashboard (following the tutorial: https://processwire.com/blog/posts/building-custom-admin-pages-with-process-modules/#handling-user-input-using-forms-amp-inputfields). It all works great now that I have gotten some kinks worked out. However, the page is saved under admin which is hidden from users that are not superusers. Is there a way to allow the user, with a certain role, to view this newly created page, and only this page?
  23. Hey Guys, Looking for Best Approach to Allow Created By Changes to Non Superusers. Any ideas on the best approach?

Reference: PW 3.0.62 and uikit3 based site using the Regular-Master profile. Please could someone advise what the process is to organise the blog posts under the admin login to avoid very long, random lists of posts. My immediate thought is to have the posts listed in groups by year and month, but I cannot see how tit might be possible to do that.
  25. Lets discuss the new admin theme, there has been very little talk about it, a few questions about its status and some simple designs by a few users. Have you played with it? Do you like it? Do you dislike it? Of course I'm not talking about its design, but the way its structured, how it works and the features it offers so far. ------------------------------ I'm working on a purple color scheme for it and it turned out quite well (imo), but one thing I dislike is the use of iframes. I haven't used iframes before so it might be just me, but I'm struggling with them when it comes to javascript. When iframes are used all scripts are loaded in every frame, which can lead to unexpected results. Javascript is an easy way to add, remove, move etc. elements in the admin, but the iframes complicate things. What are your thoughts? Is it just me? Here's a screenshot of the purple theme:
