Does ProcessWire have native support for Markdown instead of using TinyMCE or CKEditor?

Yes. You can create a textarea field and select to use Markdown as the textformatter.

You can also use BBCode or Textile, but Markdown is a core module.

I don't see Markdown as an option.  Is the Markdown module still included in the core set of modules?

Got it. Thanks. Didn't realize I had to install it (was thinkin all core modules where installed already).

cstevensjr beat me to it, then make sure Markdown is set as Text Formatter for the field in the "Details" tab.
