Hi, I should install processwire on a subdomain. it is already installed on the main domain. Are there any techniques to handle the dual installation more organically?

Hi, I have installed 1 year old project backup into the new latest PW version. I used an earlier backup(taken in August 2020) and installed such as : 1. I downloaded the latest (ProcessWire 3.0.185 dev © 2021) then extracted into htdocs 2. copy pasted the site-profile from my backup. (this has the files/folders same as other site profiles, classic, beginner etc) 3. I chose my backup site profile and installed 4. I am able to login the admin panel 5. My fronted home page shows error as below Error: Exception: SQLSTATE[42S22]: Column not found: 1054 Unknown column 'page_path_history.language_id' in 'field list' (in wire/modules/PagePathHistory.module line 752) #0 wire/modules/PagePathHistory.module (752): PDOStatement->execute() #1 wire/core/PagesPathFinder.php (1014): PagePathHistory->getPathInfo('/', Array) #2 wire/core/PagesPathFinder.php (222): PagesPathFinder->getPathHistory('/') #3 wire/core/PagesRequest.php (255): PagesPathFinder->get('/', Array) #4 wire/core/Wire.php (414): PagesRequest->___getPage() #5 wire/core/WireHooks.php (951): Wire->_callMethod('___getPage', Array) #6 wire/core/Wire.php (485): WireHooks->runHooks(Object(PagesRequest), 'getPage', Array) #7 wire/modules/Process/ProcessPageView.module (10 This error message was shown because: you are logged in as a Superuser. Error has been logged. so I removed the line where its selecting language_id from the file wire/modules/PagePathHistory.module line 752 But this is an ugly fix, so is there any other proper fix for this issue ? Does any one experience same issue when trying to install from a backup site profile ? thanks

I’m new to Processwire. I’ve installed the current release version at my very-long-time (25 years) host, pair Networks. MySQL db is created. Installation process completed with no errors. I’m now trying to log in. Rather than taking the default `/admin` suggestion, I chose `/xyzzy`. When I go to `example.com/xyzzy`, PW displays a login screen, as expected. I enter the username (`xyzzy`) and password that I assigned (and copied and stored in 1Password) in the installation process (five words separated by hyphens). So far, so good. I would expect then to be taken to the admin pages. Or (if I got something wrong) to be given an error message. Instead, I’m taken to the URL `example.com/xyzzy/page/?login=1`, which as far as I can tell is exactly the same as the initial login page. No error is given. I grew so frustrated by this, that I deleted the entire installation and the MySQL database, re-downloaded PW, installed it again using a different username and password for the admin account. And I’m seeing exactly the same behavior. Time for me to ask you experts: WTF? Many thanks for any insights you may have....

Hello processwire community, I am a total CMS beginner and I am trying to install processwire on my mac. I have downloaded processwire using git and loaded the location, where the files where downloaded into chrome, safary or opened the location from the terminal. No installation guide startet. I just typed the directory location into the browsers url address bar and could see all the files that were downloaded. When I tried to open installl.php file, my browser just showed me the code. I think I am missing something trivial. Do I need to install a specific PHP version and MySQL first? Or do I need to set up an Apache server first. I am very thankful for every suggestion/help I can get. Thank you

Hi, Currently I'm developing a platform and use Processwire for some of the backend. Everything is working very well on localhost, but the installation on namecheap does not complete. I've read some comments on this forum that mentioned hosting on namecheap (without mentioning issues). Attached is a screenshot of the last step of the installation. It looks very similar to the problem mentioned in this thread: https://processwire.com/talk/topic/15516-processwire-do-not-complete-installation/. Unfortunately, this didn't help me. I also attached a picture of the server. In the error_log, i do get some error messages related to includes and requires like: [18-Jun-2020 03:42:32 America/New_York] PHP Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required '/home/niklcicr/public_html/wire/config.php' (include_path='.:/opt/alt/php56/usr/share/pear:/opt/alt/php56/usr/share/php') in /home/niklcicr/public_html/wire/core/ProcessWire.php on line 1199 On the last screen, the console outputs a internal server error 500. That's what I tried: Installation on another server (freeinfinity) and it worked fine, installation on another namecheap account (did not work), and I adjusted the .htaccess file according to other threads in this forum that had similar problems (did not work). Is there anyone who got Processwire to work on namecheap hosting or can point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance, Nik

Hi everyone, I can't get my head around this, so maybe someone can help: I want to know how install the dev branch of processwire with composer. I use laragon and the "quick create" function and there you can run composer like this: "composer create-project processwire/processwire %s". OK, this is working, so I will get the master branch from it, but how about dev? I found some examples for laravel on this question, but no luck with it. Here some examples: composer create-project processwire/processwire %s --prefer-dist --stability=dev composer create-project processwire/processwire:dev %s composer create-project processwire/processwire:dev %s --stability=dev composer create-project processwire/processwire:dev %s --prefer-dist --stability=dev composer create-project processwire/processwire:dev-master %s --prefer-dist --stability=dev composer create-project processwire/processwire:dev-branch %s --prefer-dist --stability=dev composer create-project processwire/processwire:@dev %s --prefer-dist --stability=dev and so on... Maybe someone got this already and would like to share?

Hi, Could anyone advise me on the following system requirements, which I am missing for ProcessWire installation: DO (pdo_mysql) is required (for MySQL database) Fail: GD 2.0 or newer Fail: JSON support ZipArchive support was not found. This is recommended, but not required to complete installation.

Note - I've not set this up, I'm not experienced, I'm probably omitting much relevant information as a result so this post will be a bit of a work in progress. The answer may be on the forum here - If it is I can't tell for lack of experience (I've looked). I cannot for the life of me get an install to work and I've tried a lot, and I've asked others who're also struggling but I'll try posting here before another CMS as I've heard it's nice. Info about the server : https://gist.github.com/65086fbc7b5dd03abd0f0461b9c0ec8b I'm using the `stable` version of Processwire. My `htaccess` file is working - you can test here http://rightangle.space/ and click on the admin page to see the internal server error. Here is the htaccess file https://gist.github.com/3b805b8ab3c7978aca90a6e39773da00 Here is the /etc/apache2/apache2.conf file https://gist.github.com/2b2f2518ce7df4af4739413bc967cf56 Here is the /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default.conf file https://gist.github.com/400cc958ff32dfb6df80693fd8531f08 Here's the output of tree -fa /var/www/ https://gist.github.com/a3569becd9889b4b05c4f0d0a8a561d7

Hello. I'm not new to Processwire (I've been using it on a Mac environment for multiple site builds), but I am new to installing it on a Windows environment. I have unsuccessfully installed Processwire 3.0.62 both via downloaded zip file and GitHub on my Windows machine. The Site Installation Profile and Compatibility Checks are successful, and I am able to get past the MySql Database screen. However, this is where the installation process stops (step 3). The Test Database and Save Configuration screen says my database connection was successful and the configuration was saved to ./site/config.php and that's it, but I know from my ProcessWire experience I should also see fields for setting up the admin login etc. on this screen. I can't go any further after this. I've redone this process multiple times. I am running XAMPP, if that helps. Any clue what could be stopping the installation process?

During the install process I can never get to Step 4 for setting up an admin account. It creates the database and in the screen it shows it installed the database and imported the SQL and under that it shows "Profile Import" but nothing else. I have the same result with master & dev branch. I looked in the database and do not see a user table of any kind, unless it has some other name than "users"

Hello I've got off to a bad start trying to install PW on my local offline server, I must be doing something wrong as I have a bit of experience with Wordpress and it's running fine on my server, but I like the look of PW and hope to try it. Anyway I downloaded and unzipped the PW installation, the installation seemed to go right through ok, everything passed on the check lists. I selected the Default profile, and then when I try to click on Admin access or view the site I get "Not Found - The requested URL /processwire-master/about/ was not found on this server. Apache/2.4.10 (Ubuntu) Server at localhost Port 80" Simply because the /about folder does not exist! It seems the profile has not been installed by the installation process despite everything else being ok? If I type localhost/processwire-master in the browser I get the Minimal Site Profile "What is ProcessWire?" page but the links work "About" & "Site Map" don't work as the folders are not there. Bit confused as to why this is missing. Please put me out of my misery if it's something obvious I am doing / not doing! Many thanks - rushy

The database connection is successful. But I stuck with this screen without any buttons after the page entering database info. I cannot make it to reach the set admin info page. I have inspected the remote database and all the tables and fields are looking good(I use site exporter).

SQLSTATE[HY000] [1045] Access denied for user 'fubar'@'localhost' (using password: YES) Created the DB. Checked, repaired, flushed, deleted and let the system create it and continue to receive above error. I do not understand a 3 letter password error when the password criteria is a minimum of 5 letters and this error refuses to "go away"

Hi Everyone, I made a site on localhost and after migrating I get blank screen on frontend and backend too. Tried with a fresh copy too and after installing it I got the same problem. During installation everything looks great. - Debug mode is true - Tried in subfolder and then in root too. - There are no messages in error log. - Sessions are created in site/assets/sessions/ -> I think it's not a permission related problem and processwire could be initialized - .htaccess is working Any hints what could be the problem? I've worked with several ProcessWire sites and I had no this issue before, but it's the first time installing on windows server with apache.

Hi, I'm new to web development. On the installation instructions, it says, My question is, does it matter what location you choose? Would you ever need to go back and change this later? Is it important or helpful to name this directory in a certain way so that file management becomes simpler? Thanks so much!

After installation I get the ProcessWire 2.5 Installation page, not the homepage and when I click on get started button I get a 404 error because install.php not exist anymore.

Hi, My site is 'www.peterdekeer.be', the admin is currently installed under /processwire/. Is it possible to install it under 'admin.peterdekeer.be'? I read a few weeks ago about the admin that it's possible to couple it somewhat looser. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thx

Hi Guys, In 2.5 we can export the fields. I am wondering whether there is a way that it can handle importing the json from the modules when installing. Eg : A module is created which uses certain fields. I have exported the fields via export and keeping it at some fields.json . Does PW have the ability to find the fields.json and import the fields . This is just a question to know whether something like this have been added into core. Thank you

Hey Everybody, As I was trying to move an exsisting site form my local dev (xampp) to a production server, the following error appeared: Error: session_start(): Failed to initialize storage module: user (path: /usr/local/www/services/.../data/tmp) (line 103 of /home/.../html/wire/core/Session.php) This error message was shown because /install.php still exists. Error has been logged. I searched the forum for help, but the only related topic I could find is this one: Problems with ProcessWire on Cloud Hosting https://processwire.com/talk/topic/5089-problems-with-processwire-on-cloud-hosting/ The thread says, that it might have something to do with some isses in the master branch of pw. So I downloaded the dev branch (2.4), and made a fresh install. There are no problems with the requirements, nor with mod_rewrite. In the last installation step, after the admin user creation the error message from above appears again. Is it usual, that pw creates a tmp/data diretory? I changed the file permissions for the assets and changed the htaccess, but still there is no change. Thanks for any hints on that. And thnaks for that lovely CMS

New to PW and intrigued. Installing on a newly formatted Fedora box in the hopes of getting up-to-date apps out of the box. As PW checked the system, it found the above issue. From the command line, I ran yum install php-gd. System responded php-dg-5.5.14-1.fc20.i686 already installed and latest version. Nothing to do. Not sure precisely how to decipher the version number, but it looks like 5.5.14. Do I need to downgrade? Or? Many thanks... (Tried checking the fora, but didn't come up with a similar thread. Search doesn't like GD -- too short...)
