  1. You can Hook into InputfieldFile::processInputFile. There are other places in that Class you could also hook into, but I think processInputFile works best. Throw the code below in ready.php Please note: Starter code: not much validation going on other than checking if the field the file was uploaded to is 'course_file' You will have to implement other logic yourself. For instance, the code copies the file immediately it is uploaded by ProcessWire Ajax. It doesn't check if the page is actually saved. If a page is not saved and the page is reloaded, as you know, files in file fields are deleted from disk. This code does not delete the corresponding file in your custom directory You might want the Hook to only run if you are in admin. You can add that logic I've purposefully left in verbose and debugging code in there (Tracy stuff) to help you ( maybe and others) understand what's going on. I suggest you test using Tracy Debugger for a better grasp of the file upload process. Delete the debugging stuff when you've got this working as you want :-). wire()->addHookAfter("InputfieldFile::processInputFile", function(HookEvent $event) { // @note: here, events are $input, $pagefile, $n @see: the method // get event we are hooking into // get arguments by index {a bit faster, but less-readable} /* $input = $event->arguments[0]; $pagefile = $event->arguments[1]; $n = $event->arguments[2]; */ // get arguments by name #$input = $event->argumentsByName('input'); $pagefile = $event->argumentsByName('pagefile'); #$n = $event->argumentsByName('n'); // $pagefile->field: The Field object that this file is part of. // limit to a specific field {course_file} if($pagefile->field->name != 'course_files') return; # intercept file // Tracy Debugger calls to see what's going on. Also logs Ajax inputs! #bd($input, 'input'); #bd($n, 'input'); // @see: http://processwire.com/api/ref/pagefile/ // pagefile object bd($pagefile, 'pagefile'); // name of the field uploading to {your 'course_file'} bd($pagefile->field->name, 'field pagefile is part of'); // file-sanitized name of the file we've added, e.g. 'checklist_install.pdf' bd($pagefile->basename, 'name of added file'); // full disk path where the file has been uploaded in this page's files folder... //... in /site/assets/files/1234 where 1234 is this page's ID // ... e.g. "F:/www/mysite/site/assets/files/1234/checklist_install.pdf" bd($pagefile->filename, 'full disk path name of added file'); // $pagefile->page: The Page object that this file is part of bd($pagefile->page->id, 'id of the page file added to'); // full disk path to your custom uploads directory $customDirectory = $this->wire('config')->paths->assets . 'custom_directory/'; bd($customDirectory,'custom directory for files'); # copy file // use ProcessWire's $files API // @see: http://processwire.com/api/ref/files/ $files = $this->wire('files'); // copy the file(s) $files->copy($pagefile->filename,$customDirectory . $pagefile->basename); });

  3. What @AndZyk said. Below is one way to do it. Before that though, logic whether something exists should really be done server-side. Yes, you can also do client-side checks the way you are doing it (just for UX) as long as you also validate things server-side. Otherwise, if you only do it client-side, it is easy to change the 'valid until date' of the coupon in the markup and send that to the server which would honour the coupon and you'd incur a loss in your takings :-). I hope you are also checking server-side. OK, here's the code. It makes things cleaner, more readable and is less prone to mistakes since PHP handles the JSON string. <?php // initialise variables $couponsArray = array(); $couponsJSON = ''; // fetch coupons $coupons = $pages->find("template=paddiscount, title!='', pad_percentage!=''"); // we found coupons if($coupons->count) { // loop through coupons and add values to coupons array foreach($coupons as $coupon) { // if coupon valid until, get human readable valid until date, else empty $couponValidUntil = $coupon->pad_valid_until ? date("Y-m-d", $coupon->pad_valid_until) : ''; $couponsArray[$coupon->title] = $couponValidUntil; } // generate JSON string of coupons for JavaScript $couponsJSON = json_encode($couponsArray); } ?> <!-- html here --> <script type="text/javascript">var coupons = <?php echo $couponsJSON ?></script> Then in your JavaScript do your checks, if var coupons is not empty, etc. Hope this helps :-).

  4. Hi everyone, Here's a new module that lets you control whether multi-language support is enabled at the page / branch level, rather than only per template. http://modules.processwire.com/modules/restrict-multi-language-branch/ https://github.com/adrianbj/RestrictMultiLanguageBranch This is ideal for a site with repeated branches using the same templates where only some need to be multi-language. I think it is confusing to provide multiple language inputs for fields when they are not required - it just bloats the admin interface for site editors. I am hoping to expand this module to allow selection of which languages are supported per page/branch, but I am waiting on @ryan's response to this request: https://github.com/processwire/processwire-requests/issues/54 - to me this would be even more powerful if you have a situation where certain branches need some languages and other branches need different languages. The module config settings shows a summary of the restrictions you have implemented, eg: This shows that we have started with the home page which disables multi-language on itself and all its children/grandchildren (because "This Page Only" is "False". Next we have the /report-cards/ page multi-language enabled, but no inheritance (because "This Page Only" is "True"). The only branch below this to have multi-language enabled is Guanabara Bay and all it's children etc will also be enabled. All other report card branches will be disabled because they will inherit directly from the config settings default status. The Settings tab for each page gives you three options: Inherit, Enabled, Disabled. The screenshots give you an idea of how the Inherit option works and the information it provides based on the status it is inheriting and from where. My goal for this site was to just enable multi-language support for the Guanabara Bay report card branch of the tree, as well as the home page and the /report-cards/ parent. All other branches have multi-language support disabled which makes content entry much cleaner. Hope you guys find a good use for it and I'll be sure to update with the ability to define which languages are available on which pages/branches if Ryan comes up with a core solution for changing the returned $languages. Please let me know if you have any problems / suggestions.

  5. It might be a module load order issue. Please try grabbing the latest dev version of PW and the latest Tracy and see if that helps. Tracy is now the first module loaded so that should hopefully solve things for you.

  7. Hopefully CKEditor 5, which I haven't played with much yet, fixes some of the shortcomings of CKEditor 4. One thing that bugs me with v4 is that you can't apply multiple CSS classes (using the inline styles dropdown) to an element, which in the world of CSS frameworks that take the utility based approach (UIkit 3 being one that has a lot of utility classes), would be very helpful. Upvote this: https://github.com/processwire/processwire-requests/issues/217

  8. You could just create a template called logout.php (and a page called Logout using that template), and link them to that page to logout. /site/templates/logout.php: <?php namespace ProcessWire; $session->logout(); $session->redirect($pages->get("/")->url);
    2 points
  9. Maybe I am not reading this correctly, but why do you need a Hook? The code is from the default site profile that ships with ProcessWire: <?php if($user->isLoggedin()) { // if user is logged in, show a logout link echo "<a href='{$config->urls->admin}login/logout/'>" . sprintf(__('Logout (%s)'), $user->name) . "</a>"; } else { // if user not logged in, show a login link echo "<a href='{$config->urls->admin}'>" . __('Admin Login') . "</a>"; } ?> Or maybe you mean you want them to login from a page other than the admin page?

  10. Some time ago I created a site profile for creation of a REST API with ProcessWire. Since I kept struggeling with updating stuff between different projects which use this, I decided to convert it into a module. It is now ready for testing: https://github.com/thomasaull/RestApi Additionally I added a few small features: automatic creation of JWT Secret at module install routes can be flagged as auth: false, which makes them publicly accessible even though JWT Auth is activated in module settings To check things out, download and install the module and check the folder /site/api for examples. If you find any bugs or can think of improvements, please let me know!

  11. DEPRECATED - USE ROCKMIGRATIONS INSTEAD I'm very happy to share my newest module called "ProcessWire Kickstart" that I developed during the holidays Maybe some of you already saw the preview thread about this... What it does: This module makes it possible to install ProcessWire in a fully automated process. You can define all necessary settings in one single php file and you can even define "recipes" that get executed after installation. This means you can install modules, adopt settings and do whatever you want with your new site using the PW API (like creating pages and so on). You could also place a kind of frontend boilerplate on your git account and grab that after installation and place it in your templates folder. I ran out of time so maybe someone could try that out and show how he did it Additional to that there is a ProcessModule to install in your ProcessWire admin which makes creating and testing recipes super easy. Note: Alpha realese until this module gets some more testing. Please be careful with this tool since it does some heavy file system manipulations (unzipping, moving and DELETING whole directories...). Use at your own risk. Usage: Just grab a copy of the kickstarter, place it on your server, visit yournewsite.com/kickstart.php, adjust settings (like username+password) as needed and hit "install". If your mysql user does not have the rights to create a new database then you have to create a database before running the installer! Download: via SSH: cd /var/www/yournewsitedirectory wget baumrock.com/kickstart.php // or using curl curl baumrock.com/kickstart.php -L --output kickstart.php Manually: Klick baumrock.com/kickstart.php and upload the file to your server Note: baumrock.com/kickstart.php returns the current master file from the gitlab repo and changes the namespace of the script so that it can install itself via recipe. If you don't need to install the kickstart processmodule via recipe you could also download the kickstart.php file from gitlab. Screenshots/Walkthrough: The initial Screen: You can either upload a file via the left panel or take my example file from the gitlab repo: This way you can create your own kickstartfiles and host it on your own accounts. When the file is loaded you can easily edit all necessary informations, like username, password and the url where to grab ProcessWire from. I just tried it with an old version as well... 2.7 worked just fine (having the old installer that recently was updated) but an ancient 2.2.4 version failed. I don't think anybody will ever need to install lots of old versions of pw with this tool but I wanted to mention it here. Hit "install" and lean back - on my VPS it takes 15 seconds to install my very own custom version of processwire with all modules that i need After logging into your admin you'll see that all modules from your recipe are installed: Recipe Editor: As recipes are executed after processwire was installed you have all your API magic available there. Running this scripts is only possible inside of a working processwire installation, so I created a module to help you with that task. See the comments of the sample recipe for more information! I hope this tool helps you to save lots of time and create lots of awesome ProcessWire websites I would be happy to see how you use this and please share useful recipes here in the thread so that everybody can profit. Maybe you just want to throw in an idea what could be done (for example I can imagine a recipe that checks file permissions on the system after installation)... Some parts of the code and maybe also part of the idea are taken from @Soma 's old and still great online installer, thx for that!

  12. Update 2018-07-09: ProcessNetteTester module is available in the Modules Directory and on GitHub. This is a short tutorial on how to use Nette Tester with ProcessWire. As you will see it's very easy to setup and use and it's perfect for testing your code's functionality. With bootstrapping ProcessWire it's also possible to check the rendered markup of pages using the API, checking page properties, etc. It's also a great tool for module developers for writing better code. While there will be nothing extraordinary here that you couldn't find in Tester's docs this can serve as a good starting point. Prerequisites: PHP 5.6+ 01 Download Tester Go to https://github.com/nette/tester/releases and download the latest release (currently 2.0.2). Download from the link reading "Source code (zip)". You can use composer also if you wish. 02 Extract Tester files Create a new directory in your site root called "tester". Extract the zip downloaded here, so it should look like this: /site /tester/src /tester/tools /tester/appveyor.yml /tester/composer.json /tester/contributing.md /tester/license.md /tester/readme.md /wire ... 03 Create directory for test files Add a new directory in "/tester" called "tests". Tester recognizes "*.Test.php" and "*.phpt" files in the tests directory, recursively. 04 Create your first test In the "tests" directory create a new "MyTest.php" file. The first test is a very simple one that bootstraps ProcessWire and checks if the Home page name is "Home". This is not the smartest test but will show you the basics. Add this to "/tester/tests/MyTest.php": <?php namespace ProcessWire; use \Tester\Assert; use \Tester\DomQuery; use \Tester\TestCase; use \Tester\Environment; require __DIR__ . '/../src/bootstrap.php'; // load Tester require __DIR__ . '/../../index.php'; // bootstrap ProcessWire Environment::setup(); class MyTest extends TestCase { // first test (step 04) public function testHomeTitle() { $expected = 'Home'; // we expect the page title to be "Home" $actual = wire('pages')->get(1)->title; // check what's the actual title Assert::equal($expected, $actual); // check whether they are equal } // second test will go here (step 06) // third test will go here (step 07) } // run testing methods (new MyTest())->run(); I've added comment placeholders for the second and third tests that we will insert later. 05 Run Tester Tester can be run either from the command line or from the browser. The command line output is more verbose and colored while in the browser it's plain text only (see later). Running from the command line Navigate to the "/tester" directory in your console and execute this: php src/tester.php -C tests This will start "/tester/src/tester.php" and runs test files from the "/tester/tests" directory. The "-C" switch tells Tester to use the system-wide php ini file, that is required here because when bootstrapping ProcessWire you may run into errors (no php.ini file is used by default). You may load another ini file with the "-c <path>" (check the docs). If the title of your Home page is "Home" you should see this: If it's for example "Cats and Dogs", you should see this: Running from the browser First we need to create a new PHP file in ProcessWire's root, let's call it "testrunner.php". This is because ProcessWire doesn't allow to run PHP files from its "site" directory. The following code runs two test classes and produces a legible output. IRL you should probably iterate through directories to get test files (eg. with glob()), and of course it's better not allow tests go out to production. <?php ini_set('html_errors', false); header('Content-type: text/plain'); echo 'Starting tests.' . PHP_EOL; echo '--------------------------' . PHP_EOL; $file = __DIR__ . '/PATH_TO/FirstTest.php'; echo basename($file) . ' '; require $file; echo '[OK]' . PHP_EOL; $file = __DIR__ . '/PATH_TO/SecondTest.php'; echo basename($file) . ' '; require $file; echo '[OK]' . PHP_EOL; echo '--------------------------' . PHP_EOL; echo 'Tests finished.'; exit; Navigate to "DOMAIN/testrunner.php" in your browser to execute the file. If every test succeeds you should get this: If there are failed tests the execution stops and you can read the error message. If there were more tests (eg. ThirdTest), those won't be displayed under the failed test. 06 DOM test This test will check if a page with "basic-page" template has a "h1" element. We will create the page on the fly with ProcessWire's API. To keep things simple we will add the new test as a new method to our MyTest class. Add this block to the MyTest class: public function testBasicPageHeadline() { $p = new Page(); $p->template = 'basic-page'; $html = $p->render(); $dom = DomQuery::fromHtml($html); Assert::true($dom->has('h1')); } This will most likely be true but of course you can check for something more specific, for example "div#main". Note that we have used the DomQuery helper here (check the "use" statement on the top of the file). 07 Custom function test You will probably want to make sure your custom functions/methods will work as they should so let's write a test that demonstrates this. I don't want to complicate things so I'll check if the built-in "pageName" sanitizer works as expected. Add this to the myTest class: public function testPageNameSanitizer() { $expected = 'hello-world'; $actual = wire('sanitizer')->pageName('Hello world!', true); Assert::equal($expected, $actual); } This should also be true. Try to change the expected value if you are eager to see a failure message. 08 Next steps You can add more methods to the MyTest class or create new files in the "tests" directory. Check out the range of available Assertions and other features in the docs and see how they could help you writing more fail-safe code. Once you make a habit of writing tests you'll see how it can assist making your code more bulletproof and stable. Remember: test early, test often ? If you find out something useful or cool with Tester make sure to share.

  13. The way I make divs in CKEditor is to use two custom Hanna Codes, which while very reliable and extremely easy to program, may not be the easiest concept to grasp for non-technical people. [[div class="myclass1 myclass2"]] your content here, like paragraphs, headings, lists, etc. [[end-div]] The concept is based on a simple WordPress plugin I used a while ago (Div Shortcode).

  15. I'm a beginner, so I don't really think I can do it by myself. Based on your response, I take it that it's not provided as a built-in option and it requires lots of effort or there's a commercial module. Hmm, in that case, I think I'm just okay with the current possibility with the selectbox and keep learning about processwire as much as I can as there is no urgent timeframe. Thank you for your time, Bernhard! ? Edit: Not really thousands of, but dozens of options max. I'm striving to create a small e-commerce website for myself. And thought, checking subcategories would be easier on the eyes than selecting them.

  16. Do you want to develop something on your own? Do you want to hire someone that develops it for you? Do you want to ask @kongondo if it is possible to add that feature to his module when you purchase it? What are your skills? What is your level of experience with processwire? What is your timeframe? What amount of options do you have (thousands of options or just a few)? etc. --- The more information you provide, the better the answers will be. Edit: Sorry, didn't read the quoted message carefully enough. But still some more information will help in providing better answers ?

  19. About installing CKEditor plugins: just installing is not the end of it ? You also need to add specific words in the CKEditor Toolbar settings, under the Body Field Input Tab, otherwise nothing will show up in the CKEditor Toolbar. These specific words seem to be "mystical" words as they are not to be found when you download a plugin, neither in the plugin zip file. You have to bounce over the Internet a bit to find these words ? For anyone who is going to install a CkEditor plugin to save some time finding these words, here are some words I found so far: For the font plugin the word are: Font, FontSize For the justify plugin the words are: JustifyLeft, JustifyCenter, JustifyRight, JustifyBlock, For the colorbutton plugin the words are: TextColor, BGColor, After entering these words, the corresponding buttons will show up in the CKEditor Toolbar. And because a picture says so much more, here is one:

  20. Here's something to chew on. Start with this tutorial: https://processwire.com/blog/posts/building-custom-admin-pages-with-process-modules/ Some code to play with. This creates a paginated ProcessWire-rendered HTML table. Create a module as per above tutorial. Use the following code in your Process module's execute() method. You need to create some people pages. In this example, they use the template 'people'. Edit functionality not included. Have a look at Blog module for that, here. For CSV upload (not included), have a look at Matrix module here for uploading CSV file and here for reading CSV file. /** * Display, Add and Edit People. * * Called when the URL is peoples's page URL + "/people/" i.e. URL Segment. * Renders a table with People information. People can be edited via modal. * * @access protected * @return mixed $form rendered form * */ public function ___execute() { $modules = $this->wire('modules'); $input = $this->wire('input')->post; $pages = $this->wire('pages'); // CREATE A NEW FORM $form = $modules->get('InputfieldForm'); $form->attr('id', 'people'); $form->action = './'; $form->method = 'post'; // CREATE AN INPUTFIELD MARKUP: Will hold list of people table $m = $modules->get('InputfieldMarkup'); $m->textFormat = Inputfield::textFormatNone;// make sure ProcessWire renders custom HTML // $m->label = $this->_('Edit'); // $m->description = $this->_('Click on a title to edit the item.'); // CREATE A NEW TABLE: for people $t = $modules->get('MarkupAdminDataTable'); $t->setEncodeEntities(false); $t->setClass('peopleTable'); // set header rows $peopleTableHeaders = array( '<input type="checkbox" class="toggle_all">', $this->_('Title'), $this->_('Name'), $this->_('Surname'), $this->_('Another Column'), $this->_('One More Column'), $this->_('Published'), #$this->_('Date'), ); $t->headerRow($peopleTableHeaders); // grab a limited number of people to show in people dashboard. In this case it is "people" $pagination = $people->renderPager(array('baseUrl' => $currentUrl)); $m->attr('value', $pagination . $t->render() . $pagination);// wrap our table with pagination $form->add($m); $post = $this->wire('input')->post; // render the final form return $form->render(); }

  23. Ok I found how to do it: On php template: <script type="text/javascript">var coupons = <?php $coupons = $pages->find("template=paddiscount, title!='', pad_percentage!=''"); echo "{"; foreach($coupons as $coupon) { if ($coupon->pad_valid_until) { echo " '" . $coupon->title . "' : " . "'" . date("Y-m-d", $coupon->pad_valid_until) . "'" . ","; } else { echo " '" . $coupon->title . "' : " . "'" . "" . "'" . ","; } } echo "};"; ?></script> Outputs something like this: <script type="text/javascript">var coupons = { 'CODE1' : '', 'CODE2' : '2018-09-30',};</script> And the related code on main.js: var discount = $form.find('input[name=pad_discount_code]').val(); var today = new Date(); var dd = today.getDate(); var mm = today.getMonth() + 1; var yyyy = today.getFullYear(); if (dd < 10) { dd = '0' + dd; } if (mm < 10) { mm = '0' + mm; } today = yyyy + '-' + mm + '-' + dd; if (discount != '' && (!coupons.hasOwnProperty(discount))) { alert('Discount code not found'); } else if (discount != '' && coupons[discount] != '' && coupons[discount] <= today) { alert('Discount code expired'); }

  24. Hey Thomas, Thanks for this module, looks really interesting, and I'm looking forward to giving it a go. Just a quick comment on this part of the README: I think that a configurable endpoint name would definitely be a worthwhile option – or if that turns out to be difficult, perhaps you might want to consider something slightly more descriptive, such as /rest-api/ or something? To be completely honest I'm being a bit selfish here: I've got the bad habit of using /api/ for any site-specific API implementations I might need, and that would pose an issue for this particular module ? Reminds me of the "two hard things in computer science" thing. This thread already covers both: cache (well, token...) invalidation and naming things ?

  25. ?. Yeah. What @adrian said. PHP is most likely running out of memory when ProcessWire tries to create thumbs for those images. Second time round, they should load fine (assuming the thumbs creation finished). Maybe also see if you need to rethink your approach? 300 images on one page, from a UX point of view can be 'not-so-friendly'?

  26. Turn on debug mode to see if you get a more meaningful error. You might be able to increase memory available to PHP to solve it.

  27. A very simply library that quickly allows localisation of country, language and currency names into various locales. It's based on the data from Umpirsky's country-list project. I started writing this back in 2014 but have finally got around to publishing it. I hope this is of use to some of you. Usage Examples... To create a localisation for a particular locale, first create a new instance and define the locale... $de_DE = wire('modules')->get('LibLocalisation')->setLocale('de_DE'); You can now use your locale to get information about countries, currencies and languages as they are used in that locale. For example, to output the names of various countries you use the country() method, passing in an ISO 3166-1 2alpha country code... echo $de_DE->country('CH'); // Outputs "Schweiz" - the German for Switzerland. echo $de_DE->country('AU'); // Outputs "Australien" - the German for Australia. echo $de_DE->country('US'); // Outputs "Vereinigte Staaten" - ditto for the United States of America. You can create as many instances of the module as you need and set them all up for the same, or different, locales. To access currency data, you call the currency() method, passing in the 3-letter currency code you are interested in. echo $de_DE->currency('GBP'); This returns an array of data about GBP - localised in German... [ digits => 2, number => "826", symbol => "£", name => "Britisches Pfund Sterling" ] Finally, you can output localised language names by calling the language() method and giving it a 2 letter language code. echo $de_DE->language('fr'); // Outputs "Französisch" - the German for French. Getting the Module... You can view the project on Github or in the module repository.

  29. There's also something similar in the core. If you look here https://processwire.com/blog/posts/new-module-configuration-options/#using-an-array-to-define-module-configuration you'll see that module configuration inputfields can be defined by an array. This is also possible for custom created forms, as it's mentioned to the end of the text.

  30. Hi Guys I really like the Form API of Processwire, it is really flexible. You can build from a simple contact form until to a complex registration form in a short time without using HTML. The only "flaw" which I encountered is. The bigger the form is, the bigger the code gets and this can be frustrating when you are building forms with more than 20 Inputfields. The code gets longer and readability gets lost over the time since it is a (almost)self repeating process of "codeblocks" where the structure is almost always the same. So I decided to write up a simple class to "minify" the code when building forms with the form API. How does the class work? It is a very simply class where you create a new (didn't know how to name the class ^^)ProcessForm Object and get the InputfieldForm Object with the getFormObject() function. Now you can call the addInputfield() function to create any kind(not are all supported, only the simple ones) of Inputfield. And at the end you can render the ProcessForm object which basically calls the render() function of the InputfieldForm class. <?php $form = new ProcessForm("./contact", "post", "contactform"); //default ("./", "post", "ProcessForm") $form->addInput(array( 'type' => "InputfieldText", 'label' => "First Name", 'attributes' => array('id' => "firstname", 'name' => "firstname"), 'required' => 1 )); $form->addInput(array( 'type' => "InputfieldRadios", 'label' => "To much code for a simple Form?", 'options' => array('yes' => "Yes, absolutely", 'no' => "No, absolutely not"), 'attributes' => array('id' => "tomuchcode", 'name' => "tomuchcode"), 'required' => 1 )); $form->render(); ?> Is this usefull? Honestly said, I don't know if this is usefull for you. It is usefull for me, since I can "minify" or have a better overview/readability over my code. PS: I am still learning PHP OOP, so dont hate me when my "oop skills" are too low. I'am very open to better approaches, tipps, suggestions to improve this class or go antoher way to manage the big amount of code when building big forms with API. PPS: The class isn't tested very well(or better said it isn't tested at all ^^) since I am to lazy to do tests. So don't use this in commercial projects(but when you want still using it commercial it is at your own risk ^^). The code is on Github Greetings Orkun aka "Nukro"
