  1. Hello Community 🙂 Has anyone ever tried having multiple elements on one page that get their info with $pages->find('selector, limit=n') and tried using pagination on one of these elements without effecting the other? I have a slider on a page where I display content with pagination. But when I go to page two, the slider content also goes to page two, which I don't want it to do 🙂 Any tips are greatly appreciated! Thanks! -Peter
  2. Hello, this maybe a simple question, but it bothers me for a while now: There used to be a warning, if two or more user try to edit the same page. But ever since AdminThemeUIkit I haven't seen it any more. Is this a bug or are there special circumstances under which the warning will be displayed? If I am logged-in in the same browser with one default and one privat window, I don't see this warning. But also different browsers on different machines in the same network don't see this warning. I was looking for the blog post on which this feature was announced, but couldn't find it anymore. We had the case, that two people were writing a text for the same page, but after person A saved the page first, the text of the person B was lost. I know we could have used ProDrafts for this case, but it shouldn't happen in the first place. I would appreciate some feedback. 😀 Regards, Andreas
  3. I'm in need of a special inputfield with multiple input form fields. I created a little Inputfield extending InputfieldTextarea and using it for storing the values as json encoded string. Seeing an example of Ryan recently using this technique I went and tried to do a little custom Inputfield. I got it working so far with a little try and error, but wanted to have feedback, if there's anything done wrong or could be done better. I need this to store numeric values for the 12 months. These will be used to render a chart on page. So I first did a simple textarea and having each values on a new line, but wanted something more intuitive and convienient for the client to enter the values. (I know it would also be possible (and maybe better solution) to write a complete new Fieldtype/Inputfield, but I'm not really into it yet and would need some help. But this was kinda simple and does the job, only drawback is that it wouldn't work with selectors as it's stored as json in a text field in db.) Here's my code: <?php /** * ProcessWire Custom InputfieldMonths * * Inputfield that stores numeric values for the 12 months of a year. * */ class InputfieldMonths extends InputfieldTextarea { protected $months = array( "January" => "jan", "February" => "feb", "March" => "mar", "April" => "apr", "May" => "may", "June" => "jun", "July" => "jul", "August" => "aug", "September" => "sep", "October" => "oct", "November" => "nov", "December" => "dec" ); public static function getModuleInfo() { return array( 'title' => 'InputfieldMonths', 'version' => 100, 'summary' => 'Stores 12 integer values for months of a year', 'permanent' => false, ); } public function init() { parent::init(); } public function ___render() { $values = json_decode($this->value,true); $out = ''; foreach($this->months as $label => $name) { $out .= <<< _OUT <p> <label for='$name'>$label</label> <input id='$name' name='$name' value='$values[$name]'/> </p> _OUT; } return $out; } public function ___processInput(WireInputData $input) { foreach($input as $key => $val) { if(!in_array($key, $this->months) or $val === '') continue; if(!is_numeric($val)) return $this->error("Wrong format. Value '$val' is not numeric!"); } $months_values = array(); foreach($this->months as $month) { $months_values[$month] = $input[$month]; } $data = json_encode($months_values); if($this->value != $data) { parent::trackChange('value'); $this->value = $data; } return $this; } }
  4. Hi there, I am looking at creating a lot (between 25 & 120 over time) of sub-domains that are for regions of a parent company. Most of the content I want to be able to populate at the central admin once, however, I would like to give the local site owners the chance to create content for some areas themselves. I have seen Soma's multisite module but wonder if this is appropriate for my use, or if there are other ideas? Appreciate any comments.
  5. I have been looking up everything I can to try to find what's going wrong with this. I have a very simple form (title and file field set to multiple) that will create a new page with the name and attachments. However, it appears that I am missing something crucial as only 1 item gets uploaded to the field. Here is my code: <?php $uploadpage = new Page(); $uploadpage->template = "dashboard"; $uploadpage->parent = $pages->get("/testing/"); $uploadpage->title = $sanitizer->text($input->post->new_title); $uploadpage->save(); $uploadpage->setOutputFormatting(false); $u = new WireUpload('test_upload'); $u->setMaxFiles(6); $u->setOverwrite(false); $u->setDestinationPath($uploadpage->test_upload->path()); $u->setValidExtensions(array('jpg', 'jpeg', 'gif', 'png', 'pdf')); foreach($u->execute() as $filename) { $uploadpage->test_upload->add($filename); } $uploadpage->save(); ?> I have the max files set to 6, and have a foreach loop to add the files, but it is only uploading one. Does anyone see where I might have gone astray?
  6. I have a content field (CKeditor) where I want the editor to be able to insert galleries with photo's anywhere in the content. Like the image insert functionality already present but with the option to add multiple images and have them transform into a gallery using Javascript. The javascript is not an issue but I'm not sure how to get the images nicely in the CKeditor field. I kind of like the solution Wordpress has for galleries... Any module like that available for Processwire?
  7. Hi Everyone! I am new to processwire and this CMS looks better than some of the others I have seen. I have a question though. I want to design Processwire websites for clients. I will be creating the sites on my computer using Xampp and then I want to upload the finished site to a live server. What I'm confused about is should I install separate Processwire installations for each client and name them differently in Phpmyadmin. For example I would install Processwire and name it Process-Client A. Then I will install Processwire again and name the database Process-Client B. Would I be walking into a minefield if I did this? Thanks!
  8. Hi all, I'm not sure how to best store multiple timestamps in a field for a page. As there can be 100 or more timestamps attached to the page, I need to find the most efficient way to save those timestamps in a field and later search through that field. My use case: I have pages for advertisements with start date, end date and start time, end time and frequency of publishing (every 15, 30, 60 minutes). From that data I calculate timestamps at which the advertisement will be available for viewing. One advertisement can have 100 or more timestamps attached to it. Example: title of page: Advertisement1 field "ad_publish" contains timestamps: 1413136860,1413136920,1413136980,1413137040,1413137100...(can be a lot) Now what would be the best way of storing these multiple timestamps. IOW: what field type to use? I need to take into consideration that the field needs to be searchable with a *= selector like $publishedAds = $pages->find("template=advertisement, ad_publish*={$timestamp}") 2 options that I can think of for my "ad_publish" field: 1. textarea field, store timestamps as comma delimited values. 2. page field: store each timestamp as a page What would be more efficient and faster when it comes to searching through hundreds of timestamps? I'm sure some of you had similar use cases in their projects and I would be happy if you could share your experience or give me pointers on how to best approach this. Thank you.
  9. Hello, I have the following question. I want to separate a big system into smaller sub systems, each with a separate pw setup. The question is: how can I access the wire('pages') of another pw installation?. example: a big system that handles users and mail sending. the users system "A" is a pw setup in directory users/ the mail sending system "B" is another pw setup in directory mails/ both systems are in the same machine and directory. inside the "A" system I want to know how many emails an user have sent. so the "A" system request this information to the "B" system. It is possible to just import index.php from system "B" and access its wire('pages') variable? or the only way is using something like a REST API?. Thanks in advance.
  10. Hello As I said in my first post, I come from Textpattern. It has a great feature I not sure if PW can do it. What I want is select several pages and change theirs status at the same time. For example, I select five pages (articles in TXP) through checkboxes and then I chose the status to hidden (unpublish) or published. That way, we'd save a lot of work / time doing one by one. I mean do it in the admin side. My questions is: Is it possible to do it in PW or is there some module for this purpose? Thanks Fernando
  11. Is the following concept possible using ProcessWire? 1. The mobile version of a site would reside at m.exampledomain.com and the desktop version at exampledomain.com 2. The mobile version would use responsive web design, and the desktop version would not. 3. The mobile version would have a limited experience, displaying less content and functionality than the desktop version of the site. 4. Both sites would use a single database, maintained using only one ProcessWire Admin. There wouldn't be a set of separate fields for each site; instead both sites would use the same set of fields from the same single database. 5. Each site would use a different set of ProcessWire templates. The concept here is that the client maintains the desktop version and the content is used in two sets of templates (mobile and desktop). This is different than using responsive web design and presenting the same set of templates differently for both mobile and desktop.
