Hi wayne, Definitely, a bit more whitespace to separate the right column would have been an improvement. That's one of the drawbacks if you work with grid frameworks. Unsemantic features a fixed gutter width of 20 px - not wide enough in this case. I must admit, that I didn't find the budget big enough to customize my grid system for this project ... Hmm, but no excuse, next time I'll do better. It's the detail that matters.

Hi, I simply bought a 3 license package and use one of the licenses for local development. For me it was a matter of supporting Ryan for his amazing work. Don't even know if a license is required for local installations ...

Hi forum, got a new one up and running: http://www.praxiskreuzer.de. This is a relaunch, the new side replaces a very outdated one. The client is a very renowned GP in Bonn, Germany with practices on two locations in the city. Lucky I am, she invested in a professional shooting which made it easier to create a bright and nice look & feel. Technically there is nothing particular here as you can see, except that the site features my fabulous Unsemantic site profile ;-) The site runs on PW 2.4. Please let me know what you think.

When it comes to editors, my favorite is Redactor (http://imperavi.com/redactor/) which I became to know as part of Pulse CMS. If there is something I miss, it is a sleaker editor than TinyMCE is.

hi nico, brilliant site, congrats. the visual on /about is fantastic. the whole site is just outstanding.

You were unable to understand post #7 because my thinking was wrong at this time ;-) If you just need the page as an object that keeps data (as I did), than this is the best way to go.

could you kindly share your secrets with us? have you been working 24 hours/day?

I bought a Macbook Pro last winter and would love to love it. Unfortunately I can only report ambivalent experiences. The device is fancy, no doubt, but wrapping you head around keybindings for window management is a long way to go. In addition, I have frequent annoyances: Sometimes the lock screen doesn't kick in and upon opening the lid the Mac doesn't ask for a password (spent hours with Apple care but it still isn't completely fixed). Furthermore from time to time I'm unable to load paid software from the app store because my ID doesn't work. I than have to contact support and they unlock it somehow, but it never lasts forever. I must say, in matters of productivity my desktop Win 8.1 machine makes a superior impression ... But maybe I'm not yet skilled enough with a Mac.

@diogo on windows go to the task bar, right click the gdrive icon, choose seetings and tick the box for selective sync. on mac i don't know but assume once you found settings it's the same.
-
srsly, the only from the "big ones" that lets you choose the folders to sync) Gdrive does it and Dropbox AS well.

hi all, thanks for your replies. for the moment, i've just used plain html for the table and it works. @martijn that's a good idea. actually i'm looking for an opportunity to dive deeper into php coding. do you know any pw resources that can give me an idea of how to start with textformatters? thanks!
-
Hi Forum, I understood that Markdown out of the core doesn't support tables but markdown-here does. I'm working on a PW site with markdown fields. Any chance to get markdown tables running with PW? Thanks!

i have a weird hobby: i try to know all key bindings in the world off by heart ... no, no. no reason to leave st2 for the next big thing. never change a running system!

is there some way to extract word document (.doc) file?

you could also use the fabulous pandoc to perform file format conversion: http://johnmacfarlane.net/pandoc/index.html EDIT: sorry, just now realized that you want to embed the content ... -
Sorry felix that I can't help you with what you specifically need, but I think - as SiNNut mentioned - it might be a good idea to break the clients questions down to concrete concerns instead of trying to cope with his diffuse discomfort. As a consultant I would ask the client what it is in particular he is concerned about and then trying to address this points. Narrowing things down to practical problems and their solutions makes it easier for you to compare PW with Typo 3 (which is indeed much overestimated) and to offer concrete solutions for concrete problems. (while showing him how easy it is to set up XYZ in PW he might even forget about his other concerns ...). In addition, offering solutions - even if it is only for a detail - gives you the chance to re-enter the driver seat and strengthen your position as an expert they hired for getting the job done. If you come up with a lot of references you are still not directing the process. That's the problem I see here. Hope that helps a bit. Good luck!

hi folks, another very useful page for php pupils - unfortunately only in german ... http://www.rither.de/a/informatik/php-beispiele/
-
Thanks horst, I'll simply switch to the new default theme than. Doesn't matter.
-
Apart from PHP matters, is it safe to upgrade from 2.2.3 to 2.4 directly or should this be done in steps? I have such a case here ... Thanks

Very cool!

EDIT: False alarm. Was on the subpage when checking ... (as I said, I missed something very obvious). Sure it wasn't collapsed there. Going to have a break now. Hi Folks, feel like an idiot, but (no idea why) i can't get the collapsed => true option to work ... $navoptions = array( 'collapsed' => true, 'show_root' => true, 'levels' => true, 'max_levels' => 2 ); Everything works just fine, but the menu tree doesn't get collapsed (very simple page tree down to level 2). What is the obvious thing I'm missing? Thanks!

Hi onjegolders, Thanks Totoff, so do you make lots of use FW's hotspot tool? no, very rarely. I usually don't mimic interactivity in my designs, but use FW as the better alternative to Photoshop and Illustrator. FW's functions to simulate website behavior are not its greatest strength imho. If I really need to show interactivity I make a mockup in the browser with gray boxes and show it together with my design made in FW. Such I already have a working framework once the design got signed off (btw. I also never export code from FW. EDIT: Apart from the code needed for presentation).

I agree completely. I do everything in FW, conservative I am. I never ever present in something different than in the browser - no .pdf, no .png, no nothing. I export my file as HTML + pics from FW to Google Drive and than use Gdrive as a webserver (https://support.google.com/drive/answer/2881970?hl=de). This way I'm done very quickly. And that's it.

Hi all, seems like everybody sticks with the major players. maybe the best you can do ... That's a killer-feature and one i liked with Wuala in particular. But Gdrive offers the same via its web frontend ("manage history" or so).

i opted for google drive in the meantime, though not completely convinced that it is the best option. but it seems reliable and the solution was just round the corner.
