cmscritic Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 I'd personally be very interested in a module that allows me to check for updates of my existing modules and update them indiviidually or in a group. I'm not referring to updates within a directory but rather performing a check against the module directory here. A simple button to click that would then list the differences between available and what I have would be ideal. Just a thought but I can see it adding value for sure.
ryan Posted November 13, 2013 Posted November 13, 2013 ProcessWire 2.4 (2.3 dev) also has the ability to install modules, check for updates, and and update modules individually, pulling from the modules directory. It uses the same method as ModulesManager (actually Soma's code for the most part). But ModulesManager has a nice advantage in that it can check for updates on all your installed modules at once. 5
cmscritic Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 I didn't know about ModuleManager, but I'm on my way to find out.
Nico Knoll Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Why isn't it possible to check for updates for all modules in 2.4?
adrian Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Hey Nico, I think the issue you are having is because we are now over 200 modules in the directory, so you need to increase that setting in the module manager config. PS - here's the start to a conversation about the issue: http://processwire.com/talk/topic/1550-modules-manager/?p=45226
Nico Knoll Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 No, what I meant was Ryan's quote: "But ModulesManager has a nice advantage in that it can check for updates on all your installed modules at once."
adrian Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Oh right - sorry I misunderstood what you meant.
