I have to admit that it doesn't look that bad for 7 years without a proper cleaning.

I'm quite impressed actually. There is only dust and one bit of whatever... maybe paper.

That's not a coder keyboard. Never! Where are all the chips bits, spilled soda and coffee stains and whatsoever? 😉

In those times when I was still smoking and rolling myself I had to vacuum my keyboard twice a day! Insane! This way the keyboard lastet 8 to 12 months. No longer.  Full ashtray and tobacco crumbs all over the place, and the coffee! THE COFFEE! The diabolical mix of the three elements locked up CTRL and SHIFT first and then the TAB key.

Haha... I wish I had photos of that scenery, I would have won this content! For sure!

Sorry, I didn't count correctly. There are much less possibilities:

Glad you stopped that infectious thing before it could take CTRL of world domination! 🙂

Oh gosh! It's so relieving to know mine is still in pretty good shape comparing to you guys. It is still new and shining (when looking from some angles). The only thing with it really is that my then 2-year old managed to take off the up arrow key. I do not know how can a little kid make something totally disappear in just a few seconds. He did not eat it (at least nothing came out). I searched everywhere, found quite a lot of useful stuff, but not the key. So I moved F10 as a substitute as it is obviously much less critical one.

A few little tips for someone in the very same situation:

  • Use Esc+0 to quit Midnight commander.
  • Use a pencil to save bios configs.
  • Never worry 'bout anything else!

Kids are, - hmm, well, - mysterious.

Many, many years back, when I bought my first pelican case, you could read something in the warranty description like:

Quote

Lifetime warranty against all types of damage, - except crocodile bites and children under 8 years of age.

:-)

Because you never know when a crocodile shows up in your office!

In the last couple of years I went through a lot of keyboards

  • 2x Microsoft Bluetooth Design Keyboards
  • 3x Thinkpad X1 Carbon (2015) keyboards
  • 2x Surface TypeCover
  • 1x Razer Black Chroma Something

No coffee, soda, cigarettes, tobacco, fast food, children or crocodiles involved!

They just stop working.

E, A, S, C, X, V, Esc, Ctrl, Alt... all left/left lower keys. 😕
