Field naming restrictions

A minor gripe but one that trips me up every time.

When there's naming error on a field, ALL the field values are erased and I have to setup everything again. IE name, type, label and descriptions details and sometimes notes.

Would be really helpful if ProcessWire didn't zap all the values but just cleared the illegal field name.

Still, I've never come across this issue before but now that I deliberately made a mistake I see that it works just as you described.

Just to point out, PW does not "zap anything", this is how a form works without a developer making sure that temporary input field values of a form are stored somewhere (typically session) for such a case as a post action or being reloaded.

I'd prefer if PW would fill in something automatically here instead of throwing error messages.
