Getting 404 on save

Recommended Posts

I've recently had a problem crop up with pages using a certain template that was working fine before.

When I go to edit certain pages, I get returned to the same page I'm on, i.e. /processwire/page/edit/?id=XXXX but instead it displays the 404 template. And the data I'm entering or updating doesn't get saved.

The template only has title, multiplier, table and file fields attached to it. And the table field is also modified by the TableCSVImportExport module.

And it only seems to be happening to certain pages with this template, not all of them. :?

Does it work if you uninstall TableCSVImportExport? If so, what version of it are your running? I did just recently do some updates to it to support Table fields inside Repeater fields. I can't see why my module would be involved, but I would like to remove that as a possibility before we go further.

Updated, same problem. Uninstalled, same problem. So it looks like that can be ruled out.

Security mods on server. Max post inputs reached?

Saving the same entry on my local version of the site is fine so that's probably it.

But I've tried increasing post_max_size to 32 up from 8 but the problem remains. I don't think it's an execution time problem because the page goes to 404 within a couple of seconds of submitting the form.

Post max size is for uploads (and sizes of data. I'm talking about count of post vars (inputs).

That's currently set to 1000. The page has a table fieldtype of 8 column with 99 rows and a few other inputs so ~800 which is why I didn't think it would be the issue. But I tried increasing the limit to 2000 and resaved, and got the same result.

i did have the save to 404 error a few times; it was totally random when it happened;

i believe it was a mod security issue with my host.

So I ran into a very strange issue today. I have a template with a pagetable and I went to add an item to it, when I went to select an image (for an image field) the page instantly threw up an error
      "ProcessPageSearchLive: No search specified"
The page's content also switched to the image attached. This all worked perfectly last week (local mamp box). Has anyone experienced this before, and how did you solve it?

      Hi everyone,
Is there a way for us to replicate the "http://mydomain.com/processwire/page/edit/?id=xxx" and change the template to match my site template?
I'm terribly happy with the admin / backend page edit. It covers literaly everything I want to empower my non super admin user in updating pages such as validation, repeater management, file upload.
I wish not to allow the users to see the backend for both security and aesthetic reasons.
Thanks and hope to hear from you soon.

      Hi guys
is there a checklist of items I should consider for diagnosing a series of pages which display a 404 error?
Basically I have built a Blog and all my posts are under a folder called 'Posts'. Some of these pages successfully display while others display a 404 page.
This is what I have confirmed so far...
      1. All pages are within the same root folder 'Posts'
      2. All pages have the same template and fields completed
      3. All pages have the same properties under Settings > Who can access this page
      4. Pages have no redirects in place
      5. Pages have no special characters or anything funky in the URL slug
There are no errors showing in the log either so I am stuck 😕
      Thanks

Hi, Looking to create form elements on a page–some input with a colection of form inputs and the appropriate labels and variables for that input. I've used ProForms in the past and rolled out my own when creating simply one off forms, but I wonder if anyone has found a good way of allowing form creation on page editing so that clients can adhocly make and edit forms?
      Thanks

Is it possible to let people edit a page without having to have a user-role?
      My case is the following:
Visitors fill in a form (Formbuilder) which is saved to pages. They get a confirmation email which could contain a unique editing link. In case they need to update some information, they can click on this link, edit the fields and save.
Am I totally off? Is there a better practice?
