  1. I had bad experiences with Prestashop before that wasted so much of my time. Buggy, slow(admittedly on shared hosting) and just plain annoying. Just doesn't seem to fit with me. Also the overpriced plugins annoy me a lot especially for 1 use. There's been a bit more noise coming out of opencart recently so hopeful sometime of the new 2.0 release. My friend still swears by Zencart. Seems like it is still alive. I guess the out of date style of the ZenCart site is a little deceiving. There was a ZenCart update just a few days ago. http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.php?213846-Zen-Cart-v1-5-3-Released!&p=1251437#post1251437 According to this thread http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.php?213429-Upcoming-versions-1-5-3-and-1-6-0-compatible-with-PHP-5-4-5-5-5-6 they are moving towards the 1.6.0 release. I think I might give ZenCart a closer look.
  2. That is disappointing regarding abantecart. @pwired What e-commerce solution has worded best for you?

I agree totally. Also regarding emotions getting in the way of the Brazilians play. One thing that the Germans are good at is keeping their emotions under check and keeping their cool in high pressure games especially when taking penalties as we very well know.

I think with Neymar missing it was always going to be a struggle against Germany. Brazil seemed weak to me before and Neymar was really their shining light that got them through to this stage. Without him I am not so sure if Brazil would have got as far as they did.
  5. I designed the site by myself. Thanks for the positive feedback. I am not really sure what the exact time span was but I worked on it on and off over a month period. I can't seem to see that anywhere. Maybe you can PM me a little more detail and I will have a look where you mean.
  6. Do you mean how it looks in the admin?
  7. Redactor was also discussed here: https://processwire.com/talk/topic/6159-list-of-other-cmss-features/page-2?hl=redactor#entry60500 As I wrote on that post I think that the licence might not be an issue now as it has changed a little if I am understanding correctly what the problem was. Before as shown in the old post: The OEM License is limited to one year from the date of purchase. Now on Redactor Licence: Support for the holders of the OEM License is limited to one year from the date of purchase. I assume that the oem licence could be purchased one time now without yearly payment. Only support would expire.

    At a crossroads

I just read a nice article which I feel is related to this topic: How we use feature based development to give better quotes. https://offroadcode.com/blog/1519/how-we-use-feature-based-development-to-give-better-quotes/ There are many points there regarding pricing and dealing with clients that can help. I like the idea of breaking needs, wants , wishes and targets into different parts. I think this can really help with the process and building for the client what he can actually afford while at the same time not overworking your original quote or doing more than what you are paid for.
  9. That was one of the best ones I could find of the hairdresser / owner. You should have seen the other ones. Let's say they were not for family viewing.
  10. Yes, all the prices can be changed in the admin or extra services added as and when needed.
  11. Here is a website I nearly finished(Still waiting for decent photos from client for gallery) for a hairdresser in Slovakia so it's all in Slovak. http://www.milujsvojevlasy.sk/ This is the first site that I used profields. I used pro fields table on the price list page: http://www.milujsvojevlasy.sk/cennik/ Using Profields table made it really nice and simple for the client to update prices in the admin. For the booking system I integrated a separate script. Used my own grid system / framework http://www.cutegrids.com to make it responsive. and of course built using the fantastic Processwire and Profields.

    At a crossroads

I've been thinking about a few of the points mentioned here recently. A lot of people seem to have the opinion that a website should be for free and seem to resent the fact that they have to pay much or anything at all. Sometimes I think it is because of the nature of what websites are. It is not something that can be touched or held in the hand, not a physical object. Also I think that many don't have an appreciation of the thought and time that can go into developing a site. A lot of the blame for this can be put down to free and cheap templates out there that can look quite impressive at first glance. It can be tough convincing someone to part with a lot more cash for a bespoke design especially if they are on a tight budget with so many nice looking free and cheap wordpr**s templates around. Here is an interesting article I found regarding what's wrong with cheap websites. http://joelhughes.com/2014/02/28/whats-wrong-with-a-cheap-website/ I think it makes some good points.

Maybe this is getting a little silly but had to post this. You Have A Higher Chance Of Being Bitten By Suarez Than By A Shark http://www.iflscience.com/health-and-medicine/you-have-higher-chance-being-bitten-uruguay%E2%80%99s-luis-suarez-shark

Still on the Suarez bite Link below to the interview with the guy that won 2000 euro betting that Suarez would bite someone. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-28020605 He also bet that Costa Rica will win the world cup. Think I might go to the bookies now and place my bet.

Seems like someone gained from the bite. A Norwegian punter has just won €2000 after backing Suarez to bite someone at the World Cup at 175/1 http://www.joe.ie/sports/betting/a-norwegian-punter-has-just-won-e2000-after-backing-suarez-to-bite-someone-at-the-world-cup-at-1751/

    World Cup 2014

Sometimes it seems that to be a great player you have to be a little crazy. So many great players seem to have some kind of issues or craziness about them.
  18. I think that duckduckgo has improved a lot. Personally I have always been quite pleased with the results. Duckduckgo has recently included videos and images in their search which was one thing that used to be missing. Also I am a little tired with he same kind of results on google. I like to switch between search engines sometimes to find what I am after. I think it is healthy to support other search engines as I don't really want to see a world where google is the only search provider. Another plus for with duckduckgo is that there are not heaps of ads all over the place. This does annoy me a bit. I do prefer my searches to be private rather than feeding a giant advertising business. But I understand that there is probably no going back as far as privacy goes in our brave new world. Can privacy really be a reality today? I'm not sure.
  19. Adrian. Are you talking about field type image or field type CropImage? I get the toggle if setting the field type as image but not if the field type is set as CropImage. I just tried again on a fresh install of Processwire and still the same result.
  20. Is it possible to display the images in the admin as a grid? I don't have any option to toggle the view in the admin. I see that setting the Default view in in the field's input settings to "grid" doesn't work. Was something like what creativ3minds solution included in the module?

    World Cup 2014

Sad to see England lose last night but I thought there was a lot of positives. They at least deserved to draw. Stats speak for themselves: England Italy 18 Total shots 12 8 Shots on target 5 8 Fouls 12 48% Possession (%) 52% 9 Corners 2 3 Saves 7 0 Offsides 7

Kongondo, Which part of the UK are you from? I noticed you didn't mention England.
  25. I agree, Ryan has a very nice way of explaining things from what I see in written form. I see this all the time in the forums. What I would really like to see is Ryan write a Processwire book I think that a Processwire book would go a long way as far as marketing goes and introducing more people to Processwire. Even though the forum provides me with most answers that I need regarding Processwire, I would still be one of the first in line to purchase a book if Ryan wrote one. I think that if a book was written that the use of Processwire would explode. I can't remember exactly how I found processwire but I remember it was love at first sight.
