Does processwire have an official facebook page? I tried looking but all I found was the groups page here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/265558090161714/

Been doing my best to get the word out and get some votes in and managed to get a quite a few votes in today from whoever was willing to vote. But form what I see there doesn't seem to be much other action going on elsewhere. Calculating all the votes i gathered and counting it up, looks like hardly anyone has voted recently. I have to say looking at the votes for Ametys cms. They seem to be coming in like clockwork. Like a vote every 3-5 minutes while the other apps are locked in at around the same number of votes. Looks like they have brought in some secret weapon with their army.

It could be said that if one personality checking in the morning if the one given at birth is still the same could equal 2 personalities.

Like I mentioned here before, strange things seem to happen on the last few days. I do think a little more effort could be made to get processwire some more votes. it is a couple of months now since i asked Bitnami to register processwire for the contest and started the ball rolling back in November. http://processwire.com/talk/topic/5043-vote-for-processwire-on-bitnami/?hl=bitnami Such was my excitement at discovering processwire. I have felt since then that the push to win this is a bit lacklustre. Let's rally in the troops and win this.

Cheers Jay Back to the contest at hand. How about the forum Admin send out an email to everyone on the forum to inform them about the contest to rally in some votes?

Are they regularly beating up the one in the lead? They must have a lot of time on their hands.

Been voting for Processwire on Bitnami since November so great to see some traction at last and processwire at the top. My only reservation is that each month since I requested Processwire to be listed on Bitnami contest is that there seems to be some funny business at the end of the month. I found that on the last day or so of the month that suddenly hundreds of votes come in from nowhere on one or 2 of the applications in the contest. I am sure it is all legit though. Just get ready to bring in the troops on the last couple of days.

Good to see Processwire at the top of the leader board in Bitnami Contest at last. Go Go Processwire.

Does that mean Ryan could still change the licence of processwire to say MIT licence or a different licence if he wanted? I thought once something was under gpl licence that it couldn't be changed.
-
Thanks for the link teppo. That makes it clear. It should be on the module sales page. Anyone checked out the WTFPL licence? http://www.wtfpl.net/about/ Seems nice and simple
-
This is a confusing subject. I know that wordpress considers plugins to be gpl. Wordpress has the same licence as processwire. Some suggest that plugins for gpl software just needs to be gpl compatible. There seem to be conflicting opinions on this. A lot of wordpress plugins are both gpl and commercial in the way the plugin provider sells a licence for support and updates. Personally I find the MIT licence easier to understand. It would be interesting to know how the ProCach and FormBuilder licences work? I have had confusion over this myself as far as these modules go. Are their licences for 1 years support & updates or one years use, support & updates? Can i use FormBuilder or ProCach after one year? Do i need to buy another years licence to keep using formbuilder on my sites?

cms made simple won for the month just ended. processwire was only listed at the end of the month so wasn't much time to get votes in. New voting started again for this month. https://bitnami.com/product/processwire

Hi I contacted bitnami to suggest adding processwire to the bitnami catalog They just contacted me that they have added processwire to their catalog as per the link below https://bitnami.com/product/processwire You can vote for processwire in their monthly contest.

Roles and permissions for settings tab in edit pages
dazzyweb replied to dazzyweb's topic in Getting Started
Excellent, Thanks for that Adrian. All sorted now. -
Hi Is it possible to setup or create a permission so that the editor doesn't have access to the settings tab when editing a page? I can't seem to find a simple way to do it with the options available.
-
Thanks diogo That did the trick
-
Hi Regarding diogo solution. I tried this and it works fine but I have one issue, the child pages don't seem to be hidden from the site. So for example if i go to www.mysite.com/home-content/area1 then this section appears as a page on the front end. Is there some way to prevent this? If I understood right what diogo said this shouldn't show. My home_content page uses a template that doesn't have a template file as diogo suggested.

Thanks Martijn I see how that can be useful

Thanks for the responses. I can still see how many characters are left even if the truncate option is unchecked. After playing around with it for a while the only difference I seem to see is if I paste some text into the field and the truncate text option is checked then it cuts to the max character limit. If it is unchecked then it reverts back to old value if there was one before.
