500 Internal server error

Hi,

I just moved a clients PW 2.1 instance which was working perfectly fine on Mediatemple to

a new hosting provider, a simple shared linux hosting. I moved the DB, copied files etc etc also htaccess.

The problem is if I copy over the htaccess it drops me 500 internal server error, leave it off (which of course we don't want:-)) and the site pops up.

I tried everything suggested on the forum but nothing seems to work for me.

Any help, Ideas ?

Have you checked the Apache error log yet? (not sure how to access that in your shared hosting - maybe by contacting the hosting company?)

Also you might want to try clean install first to see if the server fills all the requirements for PW.

It's solved, I had set the php flags post_max_size and max_file_upload thru the htaccess

and the hosting company didn't like that. I had to change these vars thru their panel

Look in your .htaccess and uncomment this line:

RewriteBase /

edit: Too slow. Okay, glad it is fixed.
