fastpurplemedia
Hello everyone! What do you do once a superbly sensible design goes unused as, not because of your fault, the client loses interest within the project?

Marty Walker
Sometimes elements of your good design can go to a good home on another website.
MatthewSchenker
Greetings, Excellent discussion topic! Sometimes, I offer a few initial designs, but the client can only choose one. Or more often, after a site is launched, I "experiment" to show the client what's possible. Other times, when competing for a project, I create a couple of designs but don't "win" the bidding war (by the way, I no longer get involved in bidding wars). The problem is, my designs are usually so specific to the project that after I move on it is rare where I can use just that one again. Maybe we could have a "PWDribble" area where we can post these designs? Maybe sharing them would be helpful to others? Thanks, Matthew
fastpurplemedia
I also use those designs in my portfolio or keep it as inspiration for the next job.

Vineet Sawant
@soma @fastpurplemedia I usually make about 2-3 designs out of which one gets approved. I keep rest of the designs for future use. Not that I ever reuse them, I always end starting from the scratch but I sometimes use some elements from them. Otherwise most of them just stay sitting on my hard drive, waiting for the end. pwired
Like you keep a library with your reusable code snippets (html, css, js, php) you can also keep your library of reusable parts of designs.
OrganizedFellow
Most of mine get forgotten and later updated to newer more modern techniques. I recently deleted converted a few of my favorite ones to Foundation
