Arabic Language Package didn't found.

Recommended Posts

Hi @Junaid Farooqui - as far as I know there isn't one yet, but perhaps, @Faisal or @Kemal put one together, but didn't publish it to the modules directory, or perhaps you could all work on one together?

Hi @Junaid Farooqui, and thank you @adrian.

Till now there isn't an Arabic language pack for processwire.

I have fully translate and helped translating some web applications in the past (private and public projects). sometime for apps that I didn't even like ^_^

But why I didn't  start making an Arabic language pack for processwire till now? (and I am in deep love with processwire) :-X

I am not going to say I didn't get the time to do it just yet or something like that, even it's true.

It is because of Mr.Ryan, He made it so easy and simple to have a localize your admin area even if you don't have a language pack (this man is not just a normal programmer or developer) he is a magician :P

I made a small website for someone don't understand English and he don't need/want full accesses to admin so I just install language module in the core and translate whatever he needed only and everybody is happy :)

I have a plan to make an Arabic language pack but I can't tell any estimate time for it but that just me.

However, if you need any help I will be happy to assist.

And sorry for my bad English expression.

Hi @adrian and @Faisal

Thank you for your time guys. for now i am trying some other method to resolve this matter. so far no success but let see.

please clear my confusion the package we are talking about is only for admin panel or admin and front end as well. because i am looking for front end solution because our targeted customers is arabica spoken but due to standards we have to maintain english version also.

Regards
J

You can also checkout the site-languages profile included with ProcessWire as a quick startup and example.

      Hello,

I still did not solve my problem about Hebrew letters. In fact, it is ok for Russian for example to have a transliteration of characters (one to one) but in languages like Hebrew, Arabic, it is better to slugify with phonetic like here :
      use EasySlugger\Utf8Slugger; $slug = Utf8Slugger::slugify('日本語'); // slug = ri-ben-yu $slug = Utf8Slugger::slugify('العَرَبِيةُ‎‎'); // slug = alrbyt $slug = Utf8Slugger::slugify('עברית'); // slug = bryt So I am planning to insert https://github.com/javiereguiluz/EasySlugger
Should I create a module or just add a hook ?

      I am a PW newbie.
      Thanks for your help

      Hey there,
I am using PW for more than two years now and it satisfied me in all scales. Can just say: Build Bigger, Faster, Stronger, Easier.
Now we are up to make a site for refugees also in arabic and farsi.
Frontend is no problem, but how to make the Textarea/CK Editor Right to Left for Arabic?
… and/or custom Css to the Languages - is there a proper way?
      Thx,
      Tom

Each page in processwire has a name and a title.
When I create a new page and give it a title, the name is created automatically.
That name creates the URL of that page.
This works great for English sites.
However, for international users this doesn't work as nicely.

If I create a new page and give it a title that's not in English, then the name field is left blank and I must write a "fake" title in English.

I work with sites in Arabic and in Hebrew and this is the biggest difficulty I see when working on non English sites with Processwire.
Even for an experienced user, this is an annoyance every time.
For comparison, in WordPress I can have multilingual titles and URL's out of the box.
This is an advantage WordPress has when it comes to international users.

I would like to see this change, and perhaps help bring this change.

What would it take for Processwire to support multilingual URL's and page names?
What would be the best route to achieve this?
