  1. I am not a graphic designer, but if I was briefing for a design to support a brand identity, I would stay away from playing with the letters or the name. Process Wire, as a phrase, works very well both in a branding sense and in a descriptive sense. Moving to PW is a useful chatting short-cut, but no longer delivers the brand phrase or, indeed any brand values. So, in that case, the brief would be to look for an easily repeatable (and easily modifiable*) logo/design that can be used in conjunction with the words Process Wire, rather than trying to replace them. A good solid logo without letters has a very long life span while remaining adaptable to changing trends and, indeed, the success of the brand. *Note: it should be modifiable in that it can work with different colours and in different contexts, while retaining a shape that is set in stone. This makes is multi-use from the outset which saves a lot of heart ache later. JS

  2. Hey all, I'm releasing a new admin theme called Elegance. I tried to keep the look and feel of ProcessWire, but with a modern clean and robust touch to it. Special thanks to nikola, soma and adamspruijt, because I've used components from their themes that I liked (hope u guys are okay with it ). 3. I don't get any commissions from ServInt. But they do provide a dedicated server for the ProcessWire project, which we don't have to pay for. I think this is really awesome of them to support the ProcessWire project in this way. If you get an account with Servint it's good to mention ProcessWire, just as a way to say thanks, if you want to. But just wanted to mention that nobody is getting any commissions or payments. We all are getting a great server, because Servint likes ProcessWire and supports open source.

  6. Happy Holidays! (From somewhere beneath a very uncooperative turkey who, should it just sit still for five minutes, would be magically transformed into my dinner!!!) And here is to a very interesting and well and truly Wired new year! Joss

  8. Mahalia was always my sole problem with the logo. If nobody including Ryan likes it, i would say it should be dropped. I think a new logo should be designed carefully (not a new logo only, to do it well it should be an entire corporate identity), but meanwhile, why not replace mahalia by a nice serifed typeface, or even a different weight of avenir? i can't see Pu for how much i look at it, and in portuguese it also means what Ryan said

  9. I also started to see u when i did the logos. In diogos I see Photoshop Welements. I don't think the cloud is something we should incorporate into a or any of the logos of PW. Just to fit the current website... which will change in 2-3 years. The letters typing is ok, but doesn't make a logo I'd want to live with. I'm not sure anymore what is required or not and the way to go from here.

  10. Ryan... since you talked about Pu, I see the Pu, too. Its like looking into clouds, you never see the Sheep hunting Lion until somebody told you how to look. Not Good, Pu everywhere

  11. Netcarver, thank you for the kind words, that makes my day. Though I think you give me way too much credit. It's the community here and the people like yourself that make it great.

  12. Hello kongondo & welcome to the PW forum. Whilst I agree that Ryan's produced an amazing product in ProcessWire I think it goes beyond just the software. Of the CMS devs I've been involved with Ryan's the one project lead who has been the most open, from first contact, to meaningful contributions towards the site, docs, forum and code. Some others have been open, most friendly, but none to the same degree. Consequently he's attracted a welcoming, talented & professional group of people to the project and I've learned a lot from being involved here.

  13. Ironically, odds are it's due to a broken regular expression in IPB's code.

  14. Alan that's good to hear you've had a good experience with MT. My only experience with them is from the (gs) plan, via multiple clients, and it's been the most problematic hosting situation I've dealt with, though it's not all bad all the time. But it's good to hear their plans above that are in a different class. I'm good with this too. Though also think that there isn't anything specific about ProcessWire that makes it require hosting any different from say WordPress, Modx or Drupal. So ultimately it would just be a list of services that members here have had a good experience with. Longer term I think we should have a listing of this sort, but shorter term we'll probably want to keep it to the forum until some other projects are out of the way.
