I really like it but it's annoying that "nico" isn't free anymore and I have to use "Nico_"...

NicoKnol is reg'd too? :)

what about adding the channel to PW's website? http://webchat.freenode.net/

edit: oops! there is no link to it.... well, just go to that link, and then "main menu" (top-left) and then "Add webchat to your site"
edit2: and here is a custom link to bookmark :) http://webchat.freen...cesswire&uio=d4

Just getting this topic up. If someone wonders if channel is still active - yes it is. Also seems to be a great support channel. We have had many great discussions already. Welcome!

I've no popped my head in yet due to time constraints, but can I suggest that if there is helpful code discussed over there that might be of use to others that we somehow post it on the forums too?

That's the only problem with IRC I think, but otherwise it's a superb facility for more rapid discussion.

Of course I only mean to post things if it's something really useful that's not already been covered to the best of your knowledge - not an easy set of parameters I know, but I'd hate to miss out on something amazing just because I wasn't on IRC at the time :(

Pete,

from the times I've been in the channel and code like that has been discussed, the person doing the coding has talked about releasing it at some point.

The IRC channel does seem to be busier than usual today - it's nice to see so many newcomers in there.

Would it be possible to add this topic as a "sticky" at the top of the General Support forum?
Might help promote the channel a bit, and give users another place to look for support.

Yep. Everyone in the IRC channel has to have a clean-shaven gravatar :)
