Joss Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 https://gconverter.com/convert-processwire-to-wordpress/ Somehow, I doubt the creators of this service have ever even looked at ProcessWire - just filled in the PW name into the blanks on their template. 3
Martijn Geerts Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 People are already converting their sites with us! lol 5
horst Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 We should send them Skyscrapers or another huge site (with ProCache and some other nice features) for a full conversion (DB and full content) with destination WordPress. They say that if we are not satisfied and can provide valid reasons we have not to pay anything. We do not request any payment from you until your site has been successfully converted. Therefore, if you don't like the results and you provide us with valid reasons, then you don't pay. One reason could be that afterwards it is somewhat slower, maybe. Or it will have full DB, full Content but not full functionality. Or both? 2
Joss Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 A bit of a giveaway is if you look at any of the other conversion services, they all say exactly the same thing, just with a different product inserted.
Pete Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 I like all those user fields they say they convert. Amazing - I never knew they existed!
Joss Posted March 11, 2014 Author Posted March 11, 2014 They dont seem to offer the service in the other direction.... Actually, when you go through the lists they dont have processwire listed, so this is obviously a dodgy search engine catch page. 1
pwired Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 into the blanks on their template. Like that phrase It is indeed strange. I mean, if you understand the workings of pw that good that you can make a convertor for it, then it wouldn't make sense anymore to convert it. Probably is just a try to make money out of ignorant site users. Edit: Website/Template convertors or generators output hopeless bloated code. Who would like to have such a website ? Can never match a cms/cmf with hand coded templates. Not even speaking about a cms/cmf with a low level abstraction layer like pw. Good example: artisteer. Just look how that outputs bloated code. 3
