File Downloads with Categories

Hi,

i would create a downloadpage with some categories.

Therefore i create a Field of type FILE. with description downloads.
Then i create a template DOWNLOADS and add the FILED FILE.

I get this:

Downloads: (description)
File_1.pdf
File_2.pdf
File_3.pdf

But i need:

Categorie 1 (description)
File_1.pdf

Categorie 2 (description)
File_2.pdf
File_3.pdf

etc...

How can reache this?

You can use the Repeater Matrix Module for this... but you have to pay for this Module (Pro Fields):

Or you can use the free available PageTable module, but it is a bit more setup to use this...

PT field connected with the file templates as childpages - so User can only upload the filetypes you setup with templates.

With this great tutorial from @Soma you can count downloads, too with this setup equal if you use RP matrix or PageTable.

When I look at your need, I would say a simple Repeater would do just fine.
Each Repeater item is one of your categories with a description and a file field.

The repeater module isn't installed by default.
