Expand User Profile

Hi,

I want to give every user the option to add a bio to his profile. So I need a "bio" field in the basic user profile edit form. (Not in the user form which can only be edited by admins). But I can't find it in "templates".

So how can I add fields to the "PROFILE" template?

There's a filter option on top of Templates... check show system templates . You will see a "user" template.

I know. But a normal user can only edit his profile (with the link at the bottom). And the profile page doesn't use the "user" template...

The profile page actually does use the user template, but it only lets the user edit the fields you designate. You can let them edit any fields you've added the user template. First add them to the user template. Then go to Modules > Process > User Profile, and check the boxes for the fields you want the user to be able to edit on the profile screen.
