"Skeleton" Version of PW

Hey there,

First: thanks for this great CMS! I've been working with a bunch of other systems in the past and I'm very satisfied with this one.

One thing that bug me when downloading the latest version is that there's always a bunch of templates, fields and pages that I don't need. I always delete these as a first step in order to have a clean version to build upon.

What do you think of a "skeleton" version of PW as a alternate download?

I'm thinking of a raw version without the "welcome" pages, etc.

Maybe the default templates could be an optional part of the setup process.

Perhaps an advanced options area to turn off their creation?

That's what I do.

Each new project I have some "starter files" that I begin with.

It's nothing more than a fresh install of ProcessWire with template files removed and a fresh database dump.

Have you looked in the modules download area for site profiles? I haven't used it but maybe you are after something like what Soma submitted.

Thanks other Andrew! I hadn't seen that yet. The 'blank' install from soma is exactly what i was looking for.
