mediatemple shared server mysql crashes

running PW on MT Grid-Service and seem to keep running into mysql gone away crashes.

Does any one know if this is because PW is doing to many requests (how would i test?) or the MT service isn't up to scratch sharing resources. The dev site seems to work fine on lcn vps

Turns out I found loads of bad posts on mediatemple's shared hosting so moving away from it.

I've been having multiple issues with my Grid Server databases over the last few days. After about 6 years I'm now considering moving away from Mediatemple (also considering it's now owned by GoDaddy) .

Anyone else have any issues with MySQL falling over itself on a shared server? The site has lots of bigs images but it shouldnt crash before rendering the html..? also it has over 200 news items, would that make much of a difference (only showing max 20 per page in the news section)
