pwired
Hi This must be a dumb question but I can not change the logo.gif for another gif. I located logo.gif inside wire/templates-admin/styles/images/logo.gif and also inside /site/templates/styles/images/logo.gif When I delete it or replace it with another gif with the same dimensions 179 x 25 the old processwire logo stays showing up. Do I need to empty a cache somewhere and if so where to do that ?
pwired
I think it's working now. Deleted it inside /site/templates/styles/images/logo.gif Now it's gone. Don't know why it didn't work before.
arjen
What if you rename or delete the file?
Wanze
If you have another admin theme than the default, then your logo is in /site/templates-admin/ not /wire/templates-admin/. Otherwise clear the cache or realod your page 10 times fast

pwired
When I was working with modx evo in the past I always had to empty the cache inside the modx evo admin when I changed pictures somewhere in a slideshow. Otherwise the old pictures showed up and not the new ones. Modx evo had a special empty cache button inside the admin. How is this with the cache inside pw ? cstevensjr
You have already figured this out, however I will post to save others time when dealing with this situation. 1. I wouldn't mess with anything in /wire because, as I understand it, /wire gets replaced when your site is updated to a new version of ProcessWire. 2. If you are replacing the logo.gif, then you will need to replace it with another file named logo.gif for it to display. If you don't do that you will need to find all code that references that file and change the name there also. Best Regards, Charles
Wanze
When I was working with modx evo in the past I always had to empty the cache inside the modx evo admin when I changed pictures somewhere in a slideshow. Otherwise the old pictures showed up and not the new ones. Modx evo had a special empty cache button inside the admin. How is this with the cache inside pw ? This is the "modx" internal cache. In Pw, this is compareable with the Template Cache. However, if you have no template cached, then there's no cache to clear in Pw. But each browser has its own cache to load pages faster. Sometimes when changing assets like CSS, JS, Images etc. it's good to clear the cache to make sure the changes appear.
pwired
However, if you have no template cached, then there's no cache to clear in Pw. Are there any settings to activate / deactivate template caching ?
Wanze
Yes, you can configure the cache at template level. The settings are in your template: Setup > Templates > Choose template > Cache
