  1. This is an inputfield module I made as a replacement for InputfieldPageListSelect, due to frustration with it not opening the page structure to the currently selected page. Please note the requirement of ProcessWire >= v3.0.248 when using it as an inputfield for a Page Reference field due to this now fixed core issue. The module doesn't make the PW version a strict requirement in case you just want to replace instances of InputfieldPageListSelect via the bundled ReplacePageListSelect module. Page Tree Select An inputfield for selecting a single page from the page tree. This inputfield is similar to the core InputfieldPageListSelect, but it has the following advantages: It automatically expands the tree to the currently selected page. This avoids having to drill down through the tree when you want to change the selection to a sibling or child of the currently selected page. This was the primary motivation for creating the module. It's faster to navigate through because the whole tree is rendered at once rather than branch by branch. It provides a filter feature to locate pages by title anywhere in the tree. When the tree is filtered you can hover a page title to see the breadcrumb path to the page in a tooltip. It provides buttons to clear the current selection, to restore a changed selection, and to scroll to the selected page. Configuration The following config options are available when using the module as an inputfield for a Page Reference field: Exclude admin pages: excludes pages from the tree that have the admin template (only affects superusers who can otherwise see pages with this template). Exclude pages by template: pages having any of the templates you select here will be excluded from the tree. Descendants of any excluded pages are also excluded. Limit for total pages in the tree: this limit is applied to the selector that finds pages for the tree (default is 5000). Limitations and considerations Performance seems to be reasonable when the tree consists of up to 5000 pages. Your mileage may vary and the module may not be suitable for sites with a very large number of pages (unless excluding pages by template in the inputfield configuration). Pages in the tree show their titles rather than any custom setting defined for the template "List of fields to display in the admin Page List". Page titles are only shown in the default language. The module does not reproduce some of the quirks/features of ProcessPageList such as excluding pages that are hidden and non-editable, and forcing the sort position of special pages like Admin and Trash. ProcessWire >= v3.0.248 is needed for the inputfield to appear as an option in Add Field due to this now fixed core issue. Replacing InputfieldPageListSelect in the ProcessWire admin An autoload module named ReplacePageListSelect is bundled with InputfieldPageTreeSelect. Install the module if you would like to replace all instances of InputfieldPageListSelect in the ProcessWire admin with InputfieldPageTreeSelect. For advanced use cases there are two hookable methods: ReplacePageListSelect::allowReplacement($inputfield): set the event return to false to disable replacement on particular instances of InputfieldPageListSelect. ReplacePageListSelect::getPageTreeSelect($inputfield): set excludeAdminPages, excludeTemplates and limitTotalPages properties on the event return InputfieldPageTreeSelect object when replacing particular instances of InputfieldPageListSelect. https://github.com/Toutouwai/InputfieldPageTreeSelect https://processwire.com/modules/inputfield-page-tree-select/
  2. Hi I need to change home page of my one page site. Not only the template, but also content. Actually page tree is like this: Actual home New home I would like to move "New home" to root, and delete "Actual home". I thank this would be easy to do, but I don't know how. Two templates allows to have children. Thanks a lot, (and excuse my english) I love PW! Toni Castillo
  3. My client could save some time if she could select multiple pages at once. Of yourse, we are using the standard page selector in multi-tree mode, but she has to select one page after another. Each time she has to open the site tree again and open the required subtree, finding the page she wants to select. Would be cool to let the tree open after selecting a page, so she could select multiple pages in one "tree session". Understand what I mean? Anybody any solution to this? Alternatively, maybe the site tree could keep its state with all the subtrees open, when you are re-open it again.
  4. Hi, when moving a page in the page tree via drag'n'drop, it was not possible (for me) to move it one level down beneath another page. This only works, when the destination page already has a child page. Is there a trick to do drag and drop a page one level beneath another page, even if this page hasn't already got a child page? I tried this in Firefox and Chrome. Thanks in advance.
  5. Hello, I am using a media manager based on pages (1 file = 1 page). I would like to move the dummy file page "Dateityp" to the page folder "Jo!". In PW, I can move this file outside the current folder and into a folder, when there is at least one other file in it. I would like to have the feature of dragging a page onto another page (because my media manager does not really have folders, they are all pages) to be inside this dragged-on page. I think PW does not implement this because of some possible issues if the "Family" for these templates/pages isn't configured right (e.g. does not allow children). A ugly workaround is going to settings of this page and changing the "Parent". This works, but is not nice UX... I hope anyone can help me with that. Is this a bug or a feature?
  6. How can I change the NumChildren Label in the Tree? I am logged in as a custom user. I have an SitehelperModule where I hook in the "ProcessPageList::execute" and execute and custom Function like this which excludes all pages which the current user can't edit: And It works well, the current user gets only the Pages which he can edit, but the problem is, that the NumChridren shows that they are 5 Pages under the ParentPage and this is confusing for the customer. Can I manipulate that also? I am asking because since the PageListNumChildren is rendered by the ProcessPageList.js I dont know how to tell Processwire that it should only num the Pages which the current user can edit? if(!$this->user->isSuperuser()) $this->addHookAfter('ProcessPageList::execute', $this, 'HidePages'); public function HidePages(HookEvent $event){ // create an array with all id's of the page to exclude $uneditable_pages = new PageArray(); $the_pages = wire('pages')->find("template=activity|location|organiser|address|source|tipp"); foreach ($the_pages as $the_page) { if(!$the_page->editable()) { $uneditable_pages->add($the_page); } } $hidden = explode('|', $uneditable_pages); // make sure it's an ajax request if($this->config->ajax){ // manipulate the json returned and remove any pages found from array $json = json_decode($event->return, true); foreach($json['children'] as $key => $child){ if(in_array($child['id'],$hidden)) unset($json['children'][$key]); } $json['children'] = array_values($json['children']); $event->return = json_encode($json); } } This Code-Snippet is an mini-altered Version from Somas Code on Github
  7. Hi, From the processwire page tree listing, I am getting a strange error SQLSTATE[HY000]: General error: could not call class constructor I am looking at http://blog.boringguys.com/2010/11/sqlstatehy000-general-error-could-not.html when I noticed the same. I have added a few fields and upgraded to latest version of PW in dev branch. Any help to fix the page tree is appreciated. Thank you
  8. What happens when you have many - dozens, hundreds, ... - child pages in the tree, like typically 'posts' for a page 'blog'? Can you put them under their own management section on the top admin bar/masthead? How? Or will that happen automatically? This question has probably been answered many times in many different ways, but I am probably using the wrong search terms. Or it is something painfully obvious that I am overlooking. Don't know where to start with this. ProcessWire is great btw! Seems to get everything right that Wordpress got wrong.
  9. Hi, in PW 2.4.0 I have setup a role "publisher", containing the permission to Clone a page and Clone a tree of pages. All Permissions for this role: Delete pages Edit pages View pages User can update profile/password Clone a page Clone a tree of pages The user that is being set to publisher should then be able to view and edit, but also clone a page or tree of pages. Within the templates' Access tab, I have selected the publisher role to be able to: VIEW PAGES EDIT PAGES CREATE PAGES ADD CHILDREN Am I missing a "CLONE PAGES" option here? On the family tab, I have set "Can this template be used for new pages?" to "Yes". For some (for me) unapparent reason, I do not have the option to copy a page from within the tree, the button is missing, even though the template and role/user seems to be setup properly. How can I get this to work? Kind regards, Pascal
