dazzyweb Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 Just seen an announcement that Prestashop has launched the Prestashop cloud, a FREE fully hosted version of Prestashop that claims you can start selling online within minutes for free. I wonder if this will be a game changer. You can go to the link below to create a store. Prestashop
Pete Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 I think it might well be - so many of the other online services charge too much for small shops or take a cut somewhere else so I can only applaud that they are instead making money through addon modules that you can buy by choice (unless they've crippled the basic functionality but I doubt it).
Joss Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 It is an interesting concept I wonder what the limitations on things like disc space are and whether you can do things like CD downloads where the file is big? That has been a problem with Prestashop before because you had to upload a file through the interface which would suffer from PHP restrictions. Better to be able to FTP a file up, then enter the path.
Beluga Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 I remember reading from an earlier announcement that you can't install your own modules for the cloud without releasing them in the official PS addon site. So the cloud wouldn't work for my client at least.
