vennwest Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Hello Ryan! First, my great thanks for processwire. Since I know it, it´s the purest joy to develop websites. Thank you very much. Now that I've designed some business websites while this question has arisen: In the tree view of the backend you use the title tag to display the path information of a page, for example "/about/". This feature is very helpful to get this information very quickly. Would it be possible to make the same effect with field names? Some fields get a different name and it is a bit cumbersome, to get the fieldname used in the database. Now there is even a hover effect with field names, but nothing is displayed. Thanks in advance for your answer.
Jan Romero Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 It’s not a mouseover, but I think you’re looking for something like Soma’s Field Helper module? It also provides links to edit the fields. Very helpful. http://modules.processwire.com/modules/helper-field-links/
gebeer Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 The quickest way to see the name (or URL) is to click on a page and then hover over the "view" button. Then you see the URL in the bottom left corner of your browser. When I quickly need to find the id of a page, I just hover over the edit button.
bernhard Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 hi gerald, greetings from vienna if i understand you correctly your wish is already built in (2.5.3):
kongondo Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 And don't forget to put debug mode on Not wanting to assume the OP's expertise in PW, I think it is important to clarify that this should only ever be 'on' while developing and never on a production/live install 1
