Creating page with no template file

So I created a template A without file, and when creating a new page PW does not suggest template A probably because it has no file. I suppose it is by design. Is it workaroundable?

it should be possible to create new pages without a template file.

Does this template or the parent template some special restrictions under the Family settings?

Why would that need to be "workaroundable" ? Pages in Processwire that are associated with Pages that show up on the Front as website Pages work with a Template that has a Template File. Pages in Processwire that are associated with the Backend as Functional Pages (data - sitewide media - configurations - etc.) can work with Templates without a Template File. That all makes sense as it should be so I don't understand your question.

The question was based on a config error I was neglecting... so please don't consider ?
