I'm using the repeater module to build a list of information (name, address, phone, etc.) about a group of people.

Is it possible to replace the repeaters number counter with, say, the first and second value of the text fields within the item?

Not currently, but will keep this in mind for a future version.

This would be an awesome addition indeed, it makes it more readable/clear. Myself I’d like to base the name of the item upon the title field, but I’m guessing it would be most (re)usable if you’d be able to assign any of the (text) field values present within the repeater as the name of the item.
