Soma Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 I've set up an page reference field to allow certain template to be selected. But I still can select other pages with other templates too. I think they shouldn't.
apeisa Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Quickly tested and I couldn't reproduce this. Do you have any other settings that might affect this? Ie. "Parent of selectable page(s)"? Multiple or single page?
Soma Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 Yes I have a parent selected. And field setting is multiple. I can select all pages not just the ones using the template specified, but once saved they dissapear.
apeisa Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 Does it have same issues if you try other inputfields?
Soma Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 Yes, but I can't use another since I need the user to be able to browse the tree and with other inputfields this doesn't work the same. When using PageListSelect is the same issue. The select action appears on all.
ryan Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 PageListSelect and PageListSelectMultiple work differently from all the others. Since they support a hierarchy, the parent represents the starting parent rather than the only parent. Also, templates aren't applicable with the PageListSelects... they don't deal with templates at all, only parent. Likewise, the "custom code" option isn't applicable to the PageListSelects either. May add these options down the road, but just wanted to clarify that the PageListSelect inputfields are a different beast than all the others which are flat and non hierarchal.
Soma Posted October 10, 2011 Author Posted October 10, 2011 Thanks Ryan, I think we been there already..., it would be really great to have "select" button not show on pages not having template specified. Since there's this option I wouldn't expect other pages to be selectable and disappear when saving, not even showing a message. It doesn't break anything, but is bad design in my opinion.
