Carel_S
Hello Everybody, I have found out how you can change the field length, but I don't know yet how fields are positioned on the page. Is it done by diving the page into Divs and placing the fields inside the Divs, or are there other ways to do it? Thanks in advance for your feedback, Carel;. louisstephens
As far as the backend goes, you can rearrange the fields by going to the template and dragging the field to where you want it. This, with the combination of field width, will let you place fields side by side, etc etc. As for the front-end (if you are rendering the fields), that is completely up to your css how they are displayed/what order they are presented in. breezer
This new plugin module is a great helper for setting up fields widths for layout:
Carel_S
Thanks for the feedback guys. So for the frontend, does that mean I need to use CCS to position my fields and not Divs? Regards, Carel.
Carel_S
I was a bit confused and thought that how you arranged the fields in the backend, determined how they were going to look at the frontend, but fortunately that's not the case then. dotnetic
@Carel_S You are mixing things up. The widths of the fields in the template admin only have effect in the admin/backend. They are not meant to be used in the frontend. However if you want to use the with of a field on the frontend, you can do so like described here Edit: you found it out yourself quicker as I could post my answer
