This is an awesome subject. I've wondered about this, honestly never needed it and don't expect to anytime soon, but it's probable to come up down the road.

I will try the below module in my next aws project. It seems like that it uploads the assets to S3 and return according S3 url if I don't get it wrong. You may take a look.
