diogo
The guys at uberspace.de sent me this email after my pw install: Your .htaccess file has an invalid option, the site won't work with it because we don't allow the usage of Follow Symlinks for security reasons. Instead you can use SymLinksIfOwnerMatch More information here: https://wiki.uberspace.de/faq#options_followsymlinks_und_damit_auch_options_all_in_der_htaccess_funktioniert_nicht We changed your .htaccess, so you don't have to do anything. Translated from German (not by me obviously) --- Everything seems to be working fine here. Are they being too cautious or would it make sense to consider changing it in the core? LostKobrakai
That's just a notification, because uberspace.com is running a automated script that detects the "Options +FollowSymLinks" in .htaccess files, which is not secure on a shared hosting, and replaces it with the more secure "Options +SymLinksifOwnerMatch". But the first setting is the defacto default setting, which is used.
pwired
This is simply hosting restrictions related. The majority follow the same restrictions, some deviate, some change them during time. Through the years I bumped into a few hosters who follow different restrictions. You simply have to adapt your .htaccess to them. https://processwire.com/talk/topic/2439-htaccess-issue/
