  1. Hi, AlexV. Greetings from Saint-Petersburg
  2. Thank you, Ryan! Yes, russian symbols take more bytes, so it's good to have some spare ones. Just a thought. How cool it would be to see PW in Japanese or even Arabic. The last is RTL, so I guess it would take an extra effort to adapt user inerface to suit the text flow. And no, I don't know these languages Btw, I have to say I find the process of translation pretty enjoyable in PW. Before I always associated it more with digging in a dozen of php files, where all that little bits of output were hardcoded.
  3. Ryan, this is just mind-blowing! Congratulations! This feature takes PW to a totally new level! Will it be possible to have pagination for repeatable fields in the back-end?
  4. I have a problem with the end trimming of the translation string after I save a translation. It happend just ones for now. Here's the snapshot - the string shold be longer, it's not complete. And after I edited this field trying to re-save it, it just cleared totally and now I'm staring at a blank field and scratching my head Update: after I made the translation string shorter it was saved just fine.
  5. Thanx, Ryan. I didn't realize all translations are stored in one foder. Wouldn't ask for this feature then I also use file content search extensively (don't know why I didnt use it in this case ), but this "Check for translatable modules" would be really neat, especially for newcomers.
  6. Ryan, it would be great to be able to save all translation files by just a single click. Sometimes I forget what fields in what files I've changed and after a bunch of new edits I have to save each file manually, which is not too much fun I think everybody agree it would be handy. Edit: also would be great to have an autodiscover function for translatable modules. So PW prompts you every time some module becomes translateable. Something like "Check for translatable modules" button would be great.
  7. As far as I know PHPThumb (is TimThumb a fork of it?) also has similar kind of vulnerability. And I heard MODx developers found a way to get around it in Revo, but a lot of sites running other CMSs are still using this library and it's very careless thing to do. Btw, it seems like PHPThumb's creator is looking for a maintainer.
  8. I think it's expected behaviour. Here's a quote from the site: Don't know how to make it work the way you need it though Edit: Just had to read a little further Use this: sort=sort Edit 2: Nevermind, I have to sleep more
  9. Great work, Nico. Gonna check it out as soon as I have time. And I need to find a way to collect and categorize all this cool little snippets Ryan's posting here
  10. Great news! What if just start using new ProcessWire repo but also keep P21 as a mirror? Also put a link on a main page of it and maybe put additional info file for those who just checkout without visiting the page. Then users can transfer gradually. Anyway, this transition should happen sometime, so it's better to do it sooner then later) Ready to participate in translation, just let me know when everything is ready. Cheers.
  11. Congratulations, guys! You're doing a great job! New forum looks great and feels more social Sorry for not being more participating. I've got a new job and maybe soon will be moving to Esthonia, so just don't have much free time at the moment. Hope it will change soon. Cheers.
  12. Merry Christmas, guys! Best wishes and let the next year be better then this! Pease & love.

    For Antti

    LOLled at these pics ;D
  14. Why not just use in URL the page's id for identification or create special field with random token generated on first save?

@Statestreet Recently I heard that google now crawls ajax-driven websites. So, maybe this link will be helpful for you.
  16. I think this snippet should be added to the Soma's cheat sheet. Which is, btw, great!
  17. To be honest, I don't like it too much. To my taste it looks a little clumsy and brings some dissonance into otherwise perfect harmony of defaul theme. Edit: above I mean not the link itself, only its overlapping with navigation.
  18. Hey, Enkindle. Don't wanna be boring, but your signature still doesn't work
  19. The community is great indeed. I hope together we'll enhance and polish PW so it could shine brighter
  20. Check wether the Page folder exists in /var/www/vhosts/samplesite.nl/httpdocs/processwire/site/assets/cache If it doesn't create it manually and try again. Not sure it helps though and I think you've tried it already.
  21. Cool idea! I can't express enogh how much I love flexibility of processwire. The hardest task though is to make good decisions when your possibilities almost limitless and a system doesn't dictate you ways of thinking. Got to think yourself instead, a lot I guess making such a flexible yet robust system is a extremely challenging task, especially for just one brain. Tell us, Ryan, how did you invision PW back in the beginning of it's history, does it have any precursors which inspired its creation? Sorry for offtopic, again
  22. It's as simple as use language=xx parameter in url, for now I just did this to request it in Russian: $this->config->scripts->add(($this->config->https ? 'https' : 'http') . '://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?language=ru&sensor=false'); Language codes can be found here along with other information: Supported languages So, I think, it's pretty easy to integrate maps localization in PW both into front- and back-ends. Just find a way to relate languages' codes with internal language names. Maybe it's a good idea to take this Google's language codes as a basis for PW's translations classification?
  23. Congratulations and welcome to forums, Enkindle! Very nice and smooth website. Two things to improve: 1) Style 404 page so it wouldn't look so naked. 2) Fix link in your signature Cheers!
  24. @Ryan Thank you for another great module. In the light of recent introduction of multilanguage features at least in dev branch I wanted to ask how can I make the map desplay in the language current back-end user is using? I tried to modify (hardcode) Gogle Maps API string, adding language parameter, but nothing changed. EDIT: Oh, sorry. I found I can change it in init(), the only thing to do now is to "map" language code in PW with language code used in Google API. I wonder what is the best way to do it.
