Default Site Template - Delayed Output - Mobile First?
NooseLadder posted a topic in Getting Started
Hi, Is the default site template (delayed output) a good starting place for mobile first layout design? Or would you recommend something else? How do you guys normally approach mobile first in 2020? -
Can anyone help with remote access to Laragon from another device? I am able to share the link from Laragon which works but each time you run a new session Laragon generates a different url example: 7676f06221b1.ngrok.io I'm trying to find a way so that I don't have to put the new url into my phone every time.

I'm looking at using sales funnels in the near future and wondered if anyone had any experience implementing in processwire.

Blog Module - Is that the best options to add a blog?
NooseLadder replied to NooseLadder's topic in Getting Started
Ok thanks. It will be a main site with quite a lot of content pages. The blog will be an add on, so not the whole site. The blog will become large over time. -
Hi, Just started a brand new project. The site needs a blog. 1. Is the Module: Blog the best option to get started? 2. Anyone got any live examples of it in use?

I set up Laragon and successfully installed Processwire which is working great. I really like Laragon so far. Also installed WinSCP. I'm not doing enough work to warrant PHPStorm atm, but it looks good. Thanks for your suggestions.

How to install processwire on Laragon?

Thanks, this helped alot. -
@rookie I wish you hadn't said that. I've been using Windows since 1987. Probably need a blood transfusion to get it out of my system.

@rick @horst @pwired @zoeck @dragan @clsource Thanks for you replies. I'll take a look at your suggestions shortly.

Hi, I've been out of the game for a number of years (6/7). I have a few projects lined up. I used to use XAMPP on my Windows PC back then. I have a Windows 8.1 laptop atm. Is XAMPP still ok or can you recommend anything better? I used to upload files to server using FileZilla. Thanks.

Thank for replies. Just to let you know I changed the primary domain on my hosting and the site works without any major changes. Just a few hardwired hyperlinks to change that include the old domain name.

Hi, I have a site that I want to change the primary domain at the hosting level. All else remains the same. I read the above posts but I cannot find this in my config.php. It is an old version of PW 2.3.1. Am I safe just to make the domain change anyway?

I haven't been here for well over a year due to change of personal circumstances and I haven't been able to keep up to date with the newsletters or any progress made with the project. I just have a few simple questions: 1. Is the download still available for the blog layout, I couldn't seem to find it. It used to be an option on the download page if I remember correctly? How would I set up a blog site today? 2. Has anyone any experience using PW to set up an Amazon Associate affiliate site? I guess essentially it would just be a simple blog layout with posts including contextual and image affiliate links. I think most people use Wordpress as there are custom themes and plugins available made for Amazon specifically. I think the plugins simplify the process of inserting the affiliate links and targeting different Amazon Geo Account areas. What I mean is you have to separate accounts if you want to target Amazon US, Amazon UK, Amazon Canada etc and use the appropriate links from each account on your website. I'll need a fully responsive css layout but I have done that before with PW. I'll probably be creating many niche sites so a rinse and repeat process is what I am looking for. I'm juggling PW vs WP as I have not practiced html, css, php etc for all of this time and I am looking to get something live as quickly as possible. Your thoughts much appreciated as always.

I have a backup file from an old hosting account with Hostgator. I have had to set up a new hosting account and they have sent me a backup file from the old account. The old account no longer exists. All I have to work with is a brand new installation of the latest processwire 2.7.7 and a website backup from an old Hoatgator account supplied by Hostgator Technical team. How do I get the backup from Hostgator into the new Processwire installation? In the backup folder: The site folder structure is in a folder called public_html. There is a folder called mysql containg two files with the name of the old database: OldDatabaseName.sql OldDataBaseName.create I have installed the new version of processwire and this is as far as I have got. Any help will be appreciated.

Don't know what happened. I haven't made any changes but I can now get full access. For a moment before, I could not get on processwire.com at all, but now all ok.

Getting this error in browser: The server at cheatsheet.processwire.com can't be found because the DNS look-up failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website's name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing Google Chrome from accessing the network. Error code: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN

Would you use this in preference to CSS transforms / transitions? Edit: @Diogo Re: masonry: looks like you edited before I added this comment Very good point. -

Thanks for the replies. A couple of nice looking sites. Certainly food for thought. Thanks again. Edit: I was also hoping to implement more interactive cards rather than only links to the full page/artiicle. For example when you click on a card it expands or flips showing more content on the same page. Probalby justt JS or jquery need implementing to do this.
