Opencart 2.0.0 with Dutch language 2.0.X: cannot get rid of empty field values

Man, installing Opencart was nice and then I wanted to install the dutch language. The readme said 'place the files under corresponding folders on the webserver'. So I did exactly that.

Changing the language to Dutch displays missing field values (Admin and Opencart store) but when I check for them in the Dutch php file they are all there and defined.... wtf?!

I changed settings several times but nothing seems to help. Not even reinstalling the language pack or the store files.

Please HELP ...

And while at it: does anyone know where to change the footer information with 'Customer service", "Extras" and "MyAccount" through the Admin area?
