Torsten Baldes
Is there any possibility to use a multi-select or multiple checkboxes as fieldtype without using pages? I want to build some kind of configuration for the editor, where he can select certain options, which will then used in the template to output special content. Right now i have to "rape" pages with just a title, which clutter my sitetree, for this. Thanks!

renobird
tobaco, Page fields are ideal for this. Keep in mind that "pages" are not just meant to be pages on your site. I often create a hidden "config" page and then nest all kinds of things beneath that.
adrian
We all go through this. "Pages" really are the best way to set up select field types. Here is some reading to convince you: https://processwire.com/talk/topic/2296-confused-by-pages/ https://processwire.com/talk/topic/5899-select-how-to/?p=57652 https://processwire.com/talk/topic/2297-creating-a-simple-select-please-check-for-accuracy/?p=21428 http://wiki.processwire.com/index.php/Select_Field I actually think I am missing the most important post - maybe someone else will find it and contribute. And, if you finding creation of these too laborious, try out this module: http://modules.processwire.com/modules/process-page-field-select-creator/
Torsten Baldes
Ah, ok. Thanks for the explanation. The pages-approach seemed to me like a nasty workaround, but when this is the way to go, i'll do it. Also thanks for the module. I stumbled over it some time ago, but didn't saw it's potential.
