Hi everyone,

I’ve released WireMail Google, a new WireMail module for sending ProcessWire email through Gmail or Google Workspace.

The module is intended for sites that need straightforward Gmail delivery without creating a Google Cloud project or configuring OAuth. You only need the Google account email address and an App Password.

Features

  • Works with ProcessWire’s standard $mail and wireMail() APIs
  • Gmail and Google Workspace support
  • Mandatory certificate-verified STARTTLS
  • Encrypted App Password storage
  • Plain-text and HTML messages
  • Reply-To, CC, BCC and custom headers
  • File attachments
  • Unicode subjects and sender names
  • Native ProcessWire configuration interface
  • Connection diagnostics and privacy-safe operational logs

For contact forms, a visitor address passed to from() is automatically used as Reply-To. The configured Google account remains the actual sender, which avoids Gmail sender-policy problems.

$sent = wireMail()
    ->to('owner@example.com')
    ->from($visitorEmail, $visitorName)
    ->subject('Website enquiry')
    ->body($message)
    ->send();

The diagnostics screen can verify DNS, TCP connectivity and certificate-validated STARTTLS without authenticating or exposing the App Password.

This is the first public release. It has been tested with authenticated Gmail SMTP delivery, HTML and plain-text messages, attachments, responsive ProcessWire Admin layouts, and both light and dark admin themes.
