Thumbnails upside down?

Has anyone had an issue with thumbnails showing upside down?  If so, how did you fix?

using 

$img = $image->size($x, $y)

Cropping into a horizontal rectangle and it is taken as a tall one.

This has been an issue for a long time but should be fixed since 2022, see https://github.com/processwire/processwire-issues/issues/1154 and let us know more details if anything of the suggested fixes (or simply a core upgrade) works for you.

I know it is weird but you can give it a try.

Rotate the image twice.
