How do I interact with the image field in processwire?

That said, what you have there should work just fine. Do you have debugmode on? or Tracy (http://modules.processwire.com/modules/tracy-debugger/) installed?

Are you getting any errors? What exactly is the HTML being generated? - can you view source and paste here for us.
