  1. hi joss,

i definitely need a sync solution. work at a desktop pc in my office and on a laptop in my home office. need to have the same data on both devices. as far as i know, with a nas you need to install a solution like owncloud. or how do you sync (!) with this wd nas (if you do of course)?

  2. @diogo i've heard about this option but also rumors about sync performance problems ... do you do it this way with good experience?

generally speaking: i better like nice clean solutions build right into the core of an application ;-)

  3. Hi Folks,

today I gave up Wuala after using it for two years with a paid account. Again Wuala failed to sync in time and i accidentally overwrote data on my development server with a wrong file version loosing hours of work ... It's a nice concept, but it doesn't work.

However, I'm considering Cubby as an alternative. The reason why is, that it allows me to maintain my directory structure on my hd as Wuala did. I don't have to move all my files to a special sync folder as with Google drive or Dropbox.

So, simple question: Does anybody here use Cubby and can recommend it (or not)?

    Thanks, Christoph

  4. Interesting what you said (many months ago) about the media business.

I'm on mac in the meantime. Happy but not enthusiastic. Some things are better than with Windows, some not. Surprising enough, I find the pricing reasonable now for what you get.

Just wanted to share a little story of my old Dell laptop.

Did upgrade my old T61 IBM notebook to a new SSD in seconds. No way to do something similar with a Mac. But after 8 years its life-cycle has come to an end. Had to replace it. Don't mind the glossy screen on retina MBP, it's ok.

On the audio front, though many still err towards Macs, there has been a steady move to windows

Could this have to do with the increasing integration between digital mixing consoles and DAWs?

  5. We made a heavy use of page fields to achieve all the filtering effect on the documents page.

btw. It would be so nice to learn more about how you did this. Don't you have time for a short tutorial? Sure, you don't :-(

  6. I found the command line the easiest way to work with sass. Basically you need only one command: sass --watch. If you open the command line via windows file explorer from the directory where your .rb file lives you don't even have to navigate to the right directory. Btw. I don't know very much about Foundation, but doesn't it integrate Compass (http://compass-style.org/)? If so, Compass is a very convenient way of working with sass.

Here is a short summary on working with sass from the command line: http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/getting-started-saas/

  8. Hi Philipp,

nice, but a little bit more conventional compared to the one you had before (from my understanding of course).

One remark to your tagline: It should be "... und verhilft Ihrer Marke ..." (again, from my understanding).

    Cheers

Edit: The copywriting on your website in general is very good. Very clear, benefit-orientated, strong arguments. Convincing and converting. Did you do it yourself?

  9. Hi Pete,

I like this site very much. Looks simple and a bit old fashioned at first glance, but is very modern under the hood and a lot of attention was paid to detail, in particular to usability. "Straightforward" in a very positive manner. Brilliant.
