By default, tinymce is configured kind of conservatively. So it removes attributes that aren't specifically allowed in it's configuration. You can change this behavior when configuring the field, under the "tinymce configuration" portion. Let me know if you need help. It's a little cryptic in that section, as it's in tinymce's format.
