Added a rel value to ProcessPageEditLink config, disappears every time I try to use

I have a rich textarea field and in Page Edit Links config I added "shadowbox" (without quotes) on a new line under the rel attribute. But every time I add it to a link, save, check on it, rel is gone from the tag. It won't stick. Given option nofollow will. What gives?
