antknight
Hello, I am looking for a CMS that is simple for clients to edit the pages. Is there a way to hide the Setup, Modules and Access menu items in the back end? Will clients realistically need access to those items? Thanks
Wanze
Create a new User and a Role (for example "editor") and assign it to your user. He won't see Setup/Modules/Access anymore, because only users assigned to the role "superuser" see these pages by default.

ryan
Create a new User and a Role (for example "editor") and assign it to your user. You'll also want to give your Editor role page editing permissions. You'll see these when you create the role. After you've done that, you still need to apply those page editing permissions somewhere. Go and edit the 'home' template (Setup > Templates > home). Click the 'Access' tab, and check the boxes for your new 'editor' role.
antknight
Thanks Ryan, I managed to find this when it wasn't working: "User will inherit the permissions assigned to each role. You may assign multiple roles to a user. When accessing a page, the user will only inherit permissions from the roles that are also assigned to the page's template."
