Hi ProcessWire Community,

I’m planning to migrate my existing WordPress website to ProcessWire and am seeking advice on the best practices to ensure a smooth transition without losing any data. Here are some details about my website and my goals:

Website Details:

  • Current CMS: WordPress
  • Website: coinmasterfreespin.uk
  • Approximate Content: [100 plus pages]
  • Hosting: [Hostinger]

my goal is retain all content, including posts, pages, media, and metadata. I’m relatively new to ProcessWire but have experience with WordPress.

If anyone has successfully completed a similar migration, I’d love to hear about your experience and any tips you might have. Links to relevant documentation or tutorials are also highly appreciated!

Thank you in advance for your support!😍

  • Export Data: Use WordPress tools or plugins to export posts, pages, media, and metadata as CSV/XML.
  • Set Up ProcessWire: Install ProcessWire and create fields/templates to match your content structure.
  • Import Content: Use ProcessWire’s Import Pages module or custom scripts to bring in data.
  • Transfer Media: Upload files via FTP and update paths in your content.
  • Redirect URLs: Map WordPress URLs to ProcessWire pages to retain SEO.
  • Test Thoroughly: Verify all pages, media, and functionality before going live.

I hope it'd be helpful.
