Uploaded files of size more than 10mb aren't shown in the admin panel

When I upload a file more than 10 mb, the file gets uploaded on the server, in the  files folder. But the panel gives me the following error. 
What exactly is the issue here?

There's a good chance that the cause of this problem is the same as that for the issue in your next post (Uploaded file showed up with 0kb size), so I'd suggest resolving that first.

I'll post a response to that second post shortly...
