cant get my Pagination to work

Hi,

trying to implemement a set of blog pages and started using the Pagination module to find I couldnt list the page=2 etc results. This is what I started with:

This is on a blog template, of which the post template children have page number enabled.

$results = $page->children()->find("limit=2, sort=-date");
$pagination = $results->renderPager();
echo $results->render();

This didnt produce different results when clicking 'next'.

so I tried:

$limit = 2;
if($_GET["page"]==0){
  $startNum = 1;
}else{
  $startNum = $_GET["page"];
}
$start = ($startNum-1) * $limit;
echo $start;
$results = $page->children()->find("start=$start,limit=$limit, sort=-date");
$pagination = $results->renderPager();
echo $results->render();

And it works up to a point but then starts doing some crazy stuff! (like adding a new number for another list page which doesnt exist, e.g. page=4 when the limit only allows for 3 pages of list).

any help would be amazing.

Do you have "Allow Page Numbers" turned on for the template?

Have you tried:

foreach($results as $result){
    echo $result->render();
}

hey, I had Allow on the child page template, so change for the blog template and that changed the pagination url links from /?page=2 ot /page2 and using this still not listing the next page (i.e. / and /page2 have the same content)

This is the site

$results = $page->children()->find("limit=2, sort=-date");
$pagination = $results->renderPager();
echo $results->render();

Ok, well you have the allow pagination on the correct template now which is good.

I don't really ever use render() for generating page content, so I might be off here, but try this:

foreach($results as $result){
    echo $result->title . '<br />';
}

thanks, but nothing seems to make the url /page2 list something else (there are 5 children of that blog page current with the limit of 2 so there should be 3 list page /, /page2, /page3)

      Hi all,
      I could have sworn I used to be able to use the site generic 'title' field as a sub field of a repeater field. However I've tried to do this on two 3.0.165 sites recently and, while it will add the title field in the repeater field setup, it wont save the repeater title sub field's content when the repeater is used in a page template and edited.
      It;'s not a big issue but I wondered if this was a known restriction?

      $limit = 12; $start = $limit * ($input->pageNum() - 1); $allcasts = pages("template=cast"); $casts = $allcasts->find("has_parent=$page, sort=$sort"); $casts = sortOutEmpty($casts, $decider); $casts->setTotal($casts->count()); $casts->setStart($start); $casts->setLimit($limit); // just to test echo $casts->getStart(); // 0 or 12 or 24 or 30 respectively echo $casts->getLimit(); // 12 echo $casts->getTotal(); // 31 or whatever the total echo casts($casts); // never mind this, it's just for markup creation and works fine $pager->render($casts, $pagerOptions); // I store the name of a specific field as a string in a variable so I can dynamically sort out content of which that field is empty in the current language  function sortOutEmpty($items, $decider) {     $casts = new PaginatedArray;     foreach ($items as $item) :         if ($item->$decider != '') :             $casts->add($item);         endif;     endforeach;     return $casts; } I get the right number of pages in the pager. Pager works but the results never paginate.
      This pagination API is driving me nuts, it just doesn't work!
      I can't be the only one who's having issues with this, it's hard to find any topic where issues are discussed and the API-documentation is, as usual, very laconic.
      Thanks for help!

      I was previously using individual fields to capture and output multiple cards onto my web page but after recently learning about repeaters would prefer to use this field type, as it will be a lot more user friendly for end users to create new cards. I tried to modify my code to grab the fields from the new Repeater field(s) but am getting this error message on the page:
      Here is the code I'm currently trying to use for the cards:
      <?php // https://processwire.com/api/arrays/ // check if the array of images has items foreach($page->tall_card as $card) { $count = 0; $count++; $options = array( 'quality' => 70 ); $image = $card->image; $img = $card->image->size(550, 400, $options); $cardHeading = $card->title; $cardBody = $card->plain_paragraph; $raised = $card->raised_amount; $goal = $card->goal_amount; $link = $card->link; if ($raised == 0 ) : $percent = 0; else: $percent = $raised_amount / $goal_amount * 100; endif; if ($percent <= 5) : $percent = 0; endif; ?> <span id="card<?php echo $count?>" class="card"> <img class="cardThumb" src="<?php echo $img->url; ?>" alt="<?php echo $image->description; ?> Thumbnail" /> <div class="cardBody"> <div class="cardText"> <h2><?php echo $cardHeading; ?></h2> <?php echo $cardBody; ?> </div> <div class="progressBarSection"> <progress class="progressBar" id="progressbar<?php echo $count; ?>" value="<?php echo $percent; ?>" max="100"></progress> <span class="raisedAmount"> $<?php echo $raised; ?> usd </span> <span class="goalAmount"> $<?php echo $goal; ?> usd </span> </div> <div class="primaryBtn"> <a href="https://www.paypal.com/donate?hosted_button_id= <?php echo $link; ?> &source=url"> <button> <i class="fas fa-donate"></i> Donate </button> </a> </div> </div> </span> <?php } ?> Thanks in advance for any help!

      Hi,
      I am trying to style the pager navigation bar based on a simple example I found on bootstrap:
      <nav aria-label="..."> <ul class="pagination"> <li class="page-item disabled"> <a class="page-link" href="#" tabindex="-1" aria-disabled="true">Previous</a> </li> <li class="page-item"><a class="page-link" href="#">1</a></li> <li class="page-item active" aria-current="page"> <a class="page-link" href="#">2</a> </li> <li class="page-item"><a class="page-link" href="#">3</a></li> <li class="page-item"> <a class="page-link" href="#">Next</a> </li> </ul> </nav> The code I am using is the following:
      <?php echo $entries->renderPager(array( 'nextItemLabel' => "Next", 'previousItemLabel' => "Prev", 'listMarkup' => "<ul class='pagination'>{out}</ul>", 'itemMarkup' => "<li class='page-item'>{out}</li>", 'linkMarkup' => "<a class='page-link' href='{url}'>{out}</a>", 'currentItemClass' => "page-item active", )); ?> which renders this result: the current page is not styled!

      If I run the original bootstrap example everything works fine, but not through the renderPager options. The problem seems trivial but since I am new to ProcessWire (also to web design) I cannot find it! My main reference is this one.
      Thanks in advance!

      Hi there,
      I'm probably missing something simple, but I'm just setting up my first site so I guess that's bound to happen.
      I've installed the LoginRegistration module and at first I was thinking that the confirmation emails weren't being sent. However I now see that new user confirmation emails are taking 20+ minutes to arrive. Is there a way to speed this up?
      Also the email is coming from processwire@mydomain - I couldn't found a place to change this.
      Any advice or help would be great!
      Brian
